Daniel could not believe his eyes. It was his girlfriend in the flesh. His human girlfriend. His human girlfriend that can see her friend on the floor wrapped in light rays, as her ex-boyfriend floats in the sky.

The joy of seeing his girlfriend was siphoned away by the reality of what was around him and what he knew he could not explain. "Charity, I can explain..." Why am I nervous? Why am I shaking and why the hell am I still in the air?! Daniel was losing his mind wondering if it was because of what she's clearly seeing or if it was just her presence. It didn't matter, because once again, Daniel began to hyperventilate at an alarming rate.

"Remember the ten steps we used to talk about?" Her voice was so relaxing to hear. He nods as he levitated towards the ground. He was getting worse by the minute.

"What's the first step?" She prodded as she moved closer to him. Though he stuttered many times between each syllable, he managed to say "find a safe space" Without another word, she kneeled before him and locked her light brown eyes with his eyes. Her hand gently caressed his cheek as she hummed something akin to a lullaby.

"Angel's Cry." James spoke. "The Rooftop. Daniel and I would often abscond to the roof of the house and I'd hum this song to him as we stared aimlessly into the sky above." Daniels' heart-rate finally slackens enough to afford him the chance to speak.

"It's the safest place I ever knew. You were the safest place I ever knew.'

"Charity, why are you here? And why aren't you freaking out?" His eyes flashed a quick red. I can tell that it's her but how can I even really be sure?

Demons can transform into humans and magical creatures, all the way down to their DNA ...

"Daniel, it is me. I'm not a clone or a demon or whatever. It's just me - Charity. She drew away from him, tempted by his heavenly allure and fixed her clothes that shifted ever so slightly. She scanned the room as she backed away from everyone to get some space. "Short version- I went abroad to be with family following the loss of my younger sister, Ángel- you know this- skipping ahead. Everything was good until the funeral ... my sister came back to life. It surprised everyone in the family except for my Grandma." She sighed. "Turns out my sister was dead but apparently the angel gene in her body was awakened mere moments before her death. Thankfully, it was a private funeral with just my family so we didn't have much explaining to do aside from damage control with people who knew her."

"And how did you come to unlock your angel gene?"

"Grandma's friends with a witch named Bella; a powerful woman with an affinity for sealing magic.
Grandma gave all of us a very long and detailed history lesson on the magical world. After which, she instructed Bella to unseal our powers and thus we were all awakened as angels. I was to remain in Spain but Grandma told me that I needed to return home because Bella warned her that you guys were in trouble." She smiled. "That's It." Everyone was quite bewildered by how unnervingly calm Charity was behaving.

"Ok-ay." Israel spoke out to slice the tension since no one else wanted to speak. "You said you had an idea?"

"Oh yes. Before I departed, Bella and Grandma showed me the current state of the world. It, which I'm sure you all already know, has been plunged into bloodshed because of the Covenant. I've had to fell many of my childhood friends since they were under control with desire to murder me for non-conformity. However, there was one person that I could not bring myself to kill - my brother, Mark." Although Charity was trying her best to retain a disposition of calm and composure, it was clear what she'd been through was beginning to take its toll.

"After a very long fight, we managed to trap him in the basement of our home. We sealed him in a tomb of limestone, nullifying his powers. We had no idea how to save him from his ravenous state until I kissed his forehead. Our family is skilled in both light and crystal magic and when I kissed him, my lips were imbued with the former. The light magic loosed his mind for a short moment from the surly bonds of the darkness.
