A woman trudged through miles and miles of snow, desperately trying to find shelter from the blizzard. In the distance, a strange glow appeared and glistened between the leaves at her. She was paralyzed with fear, the chill she felt throughout her body overpowered the actual snow falling around her.

The glow seemed to morph in the distance, into a figure which terrified her and she ran deeper into the dark forest, but the figure followed her, flickering through the trees. Overcome by dread, she ran deep into the nadirs of the forest; she tripped and fell over a branch causing her coat to snag unto a twig. She frantically fought to get up, but her knees were both bruised. She looked behind her and saw the light drawing closer, and tears fell down her face turning to icicles almost instantly. She scanned her injuries, looking at them with slight disgust, almost as if she had never been physically bruised before.

Desperate to get away, she searched for the torn part of her cloak and used it to tie her wounds. She fled once more, leaving a faint trail of blood in her wake. The further she ran, the stronger the blizzard became and the closer the light drew to her. She stumbled upon a hollowed-out log etched, in a once bushy area, under a mountain of snow. She hid inside, curling up herself and covering her mouth. She stood still and looked at both ends of the log, hoping to see the figure pass so she could escape. She counted backwards from ninety and at number ten, she heard a branch snap in the distance and drew closer to the opening to examine if it's the figure.

At the edge of the log, she peered out but her vision was blurred by the snow. She slid closer to its edge, looked and saw the figure standing on the ledge of a tree. The figure's appearance was impossible to extricate; its form was obscure between the snow and the faint haze. Suddenly it turned and looked down and she caught a glimpse of its eyes. The eyes of the figure were blood red with faint traces of deep warbled black. It vanished from the treetop. Her heart blasted in her in response to her building fear. She crawled back into the log, all the way to its center and curled up with her head between her legs, praying it would leave her.

As time passed, the blizzard yielded, the snow became light and the dark figure never made another appearance. She crawled out and looked for any sign of the figure until she determined it was safe. She ran swiftly through the forest, searching for safety until she spotted a cave in the distance. She sighed with relief and ran towards the cave. When she reached close to the cave's entrance, she saw the figure and panic consumed her.

She stood dead in her tracks, calmed herself and breathed slowly - blinking three times in between breaths- she steadily opened her eyes, but it was gone. Still fearful of the figure's return, she ran across the slippery slope into the cave and fled deep into its belly. She desired to wallow in the darkness for eternity 'til she had drawn her last breath. She traversed deeper into the pitch-black cave and smiled when she spotted a small white light in the distance.

She pursued the light, and the closer she got, the brighter it grew. A few minutes later, she stumbled upon a spring illuminated by majestic white rays of the moonlight which bounced off the water's glistening crystal surface, layering the area in light. She was in awe; a million questions rushed to her mind, but none took any root. She drew close to the water, cupped her hands together and drank from it. All the while she'd been running, a small wolf pup had been etched in her bosom. The creature poked out its head and bent to drink water; slurping up a much as it could in its feeble state.

It was showing signs of acute dyspnea, coupled with tachycardia and scattered signs of abuse. The wolf had black fur with a white underbelly and grey eyes, able to melt the coldest heart. Its hind legs were broken, preventing it from walking or running.
