The University College of London, one of the best universities in the United Kingdom and in the world. I still don't know how I managed to get into this prestigious institution. I suppose I'm not that stupid. I've been outside for most of today; air conditioning and autumn breeze aren't exactly the best combination. It's only autumn but it feels like winter already. Today is one of the better days; there was no snow and it's predicted that it'll continue into the week.
This autumn day has me over the moon with glee. Since I've been here on Earth, and more specifically here in London, I have experienced what it means to be human. I grew up super-powered, naturally, I felt as though my new mortality would be hard to adjust to. Moreover, I believed that I would hate it with a burning passion... that was the complete opposite. I have so little access to my powers that even when I perform magic, I feel mortal. I'm basically immortal on earth but I feel so mortal here.
Troughs of sunlight gazed through the daunting grey clouds that took it upon themselves to blanket the sky. Sunlight proficiently hit me in all the right places, illuminating the field of red, orange and mustard yellow beneath my feet. The breeze dances past, rustling all the leaves in the trees around and above me; it's so calming looking up to see which leaf is going to fall victim to the unforgiving cold winds of pre-winter.
As my mind relaxed, my eyes began to notice the figures of a few persons making their way toward me. I scoffed and sighed when I recognized who they were. I quite literally detest these cultish sheep, but not as much as their annoying leader, Kira.
"Hello, Daniel." Kira and her goons surrounded me. All thirteen of them, women and men, dressed in all white. Kira, like her brothers, Chad and Ian, was inexplicably beautiful. Her cold blue eyes peered deep into mine and glimmered with hope for a response. Kira was the middle child, looking exactly like her two brothers.
Kira was 5'6 with a slender, yet developed build. Her blonde hair was dyed platinum blonde like her younger brother and fell in curled layers over her face. She wore a long flowing white skirt with a high slit that grazed the earth, white cat earmuffs, a white long-sleeved turtleneck and white 6inch pumps. I cannot stress how beautiful she is ... too bad she's crazy."Hello, Kira." I said with disdain. Kira started a club on campus, The Covenant, overseen by a new faculty member named Amir - which none of us have met before. So far, in our school, the members they amass grow exponentially each week. At the start of the semester, they had 20. Now, they're boasting at least 100 students.
"Have you reconsidered our offer?" Kira and her underlings all spoke in unison. It creeped me out to my core. They've been trying to recruit me for their cultish club ever since I enrolled and each time, my answer has been no. I've never read 'The Covenant' and never will.
"I have reconsidered, and my answer remains the same. Kira, you're gorgeous." She smirks confidently. "-but you're crazy." It immediately vanished. "I will never join your group. Now, leave me be and go and harass the other thousands of students here." A smile creeped on her face at my rejection.
