Michael's Perspective
Those words that he spoke settled on my heart like a cold shower in the peak of summer. A puerile host of emotions came upon me, even after all I'd experienced, consequently strengthening my guilt. Amidst the upheaval of his life that he now knows has been nothing but a veil of secrets and lies, I found joy.
"Daniel, cease your worrying my love." His face is laced along its sides and creases with sorrow. His eyes watered at their edge corners stalling themselves in wait for the final straw. "Now, listen to me." I moved to sit amidst the quaking and earth-shattering atmosphere and he followed suit.
"Michael, I------"
"Hush." And though he was ridden with sadness and despair, he obeyed. "When you disappeared inexplicably from Heaven, you'd been under the impression that in earth years, it was 1940. That was a lie.
In earth years, you arrived in Olympus in 1985 which I'm sure you gauged from the memories you saw. All your memories of the 1940s and before were not real. You never met Jack, we did; all you did was experience him through our memories. Most of the books you believed to have read were books Mortacia had read, but your thoughts, feelings and emotions were all yours. At present it is May 2015; hence, thirty earth years have passed since anyone has seen you." I pause.
"I'm listening, Michael. Keep talking because I don't believe you have much time left. That, and I'm sure you sense the ominous entity approaching us." I hadn't realized he was able to sense their presence.
"I do not know how to guide you through this coming time of difficulty.... but I will do my best. A day before your disappearance, I had attended a meeting with "them" of which you were the topic of discussion. They'd be extremely vague during the meeting, which I assumed then was their way of ensuring no one was listening in. However, now, given recent revelations, I realized it was to keep me as much in the dark as much as possible.
Daniel, I don't know if it was planned or not, but Israel saved your life. Two days before that, I and Diana had welcomed two new angels to Olympus through the main gate. We escorted them to their chambers and left. Inside the aforementioned meeting, they revealed to us who they were. Shamus and Alexandrea, mercenaries from another world. They were introduced to Olympus, mere moments after you vanished. They were hired for the express purpose of stealing your soul." His lips parted signalling his intent to speak.
"Moments before I vanished from Olympus, I heard Mira introduce two new angels to the family. Their names were Shamus and Alexandrea." His eyes flashed hatred. "I knew I detested them for a reason." I said harshly.
Daniel has what we often jokingly referred to as split personalities; each of which he could subconsciously seamlessly transition between. We knew him to be a weeping willow, a murderer, a cold-hearted shrew, a disturbing ray of sunshine and an elitist demon from the depths of Hell. For that reason, unbeknownst to him, he was the most feared of our siblings.
I've seen him obliterate an island of innocents at the behest of Mira and not even bat an eyelash. However, it was one specific day that forever warped the way he was treated going forward. In 1989, An angel, Agnes, one of Olympus's own generals, had bred for a demon/angel hybrid from Tartarus, Marcel, the estranged brother of the Prince of Tartarus, Marquis.
We had been tasked to locate and eliminate her and her unborn child. Eight months, just one month shy of her delivery, we searched for her and for the entirety of the search, Daniel contested. Labelling us as barbarians and savages for even considering to do such a vile and cruel thing. At this point in time, he'd only been with us for four earth years, but he had grown exponentially in Olympic years. He was around 12 years old at this time.
