Ch. 10 - Noble's Party

//At the Imperial Palace//

Ngayong nandito na kami sa palace, bigla namang akong kinabahan. Shete! Ngayon nalang ulit ako nakaramdan ng kaba. Parang yung noong rookie days ko as an actress. Leche!

"Announcing the arrival of Marquis Emmett Gallagher and Countess Maeve Woodard", pagkapasok namin sa banquet hall, as expected lahat ng mata ay nasa amin. 

So I just wear my resting bitch face while entering the banquet hall. Kakapasok pa lang namin ay marami na ang lumapit saamin.

Sa loob-loob ko ay napapamura nalang ako.

When Freya and the Marquis arrived at the party, everybody was astonished by Freya's beauty. A lot of nobles are curious about her, that everyone wishes to speak with her.

Without a choice, Freya greeted the Emperor and the Empress. They conversed briefly before the Emperor excused himself with Marquis Gallagher.

Kaya naman naiwan na mag-isa si Freya tsaka niya napansin niya ang mga tingin sakaniya ng mga kalalakihan. Ngunit maliban sa mga kalalakihan, may mangilan-ngilang mga babae ang masama ang tingin sakaniya, kabilang doon si Aurelia Williamson.

Aurelia Williamson is the villainess from script. Laking bwisit nalang ni Freya nang makita niya si Aurelia in person dahil sa hindi niya ine-expect na hindi naman ito kagandahan.

She was a bit disappointed. 

Pansamantala na muna akong lumabas at naglakad-lakad sa may garden. All of their stares are making me feel so weird. Although I'm used to it as an actress, pero iba pa rin kapag dito. It is really weird.

"Saintess", napalingon ako doon sa tumawag saakin. It was High Priest Nolan Ereus. He was also invited?

"Yes?", akmang magsasalita na sana siya nang may tumawag ulit saakin.

"Countess Maeve", biglang sulpot ni Marquis Gallagher. What's up with this situation.

"Good evening, Marquis Gallagher", pagbati ni Nolan.

"Good evening to you too, High Priest. It's been a while", pagbati naman din ni Marquis Gallagher.

They may be smiling at each other, but there's a strange tension between the two of them. It annoys me that I am in the middle of this situation.

"I think I have enough break, I will head inside. It seems like you both have something to talk about, so I will leave you here", ani ko sakanila tsaka ako nagpower walk.

Narinig ko pa ang pagtawag nila saakin pero hindi ko na sila pinansin. Kung gusto nila magtitigan buong gabi, hindi na nila kailangan ng audience. Seriously, I don't need any drama right now. I just want to go home.

Pagkabalik ko sa may banquet hall, nagtaka ako dahil biglang tumahimik. Para silang may inaabangan. Kinalbit ko tuloy yung katabi ko out of curiosity at nagtanong.

"Anong meron?"

"Pardon?", shet! Bakit ba ako nagtatagalog? Tsaka kasi bakit sila nakatingin sa may entrance?

"I mean, why are you staring at the door? Is someone coming?", tanong ko na siyang ikinagulat niya.

"Ohohoho", tawa niya. "Since this is your first time attending the Noble's Party, let me tell you something", may nakukuha akong vibes ni Madam Arci sa babaeng ito.

"The master of the magic tower will be arriving", bulong niya saakin.

"Ooohh...and?"

"You're too ignorant, Countess Woodard", aba kasalanan ko ba? As far as I remember, wala akong nabasa na nagpunta sa Noble's Party yung master ng magic tower. At ni isang beses, wala siyang appearance sa script.

"But is it a big deal though?", ako na walang kaalam-alam sa mundong ito.

The woman gasped at what I said. "It is a big deal! This is a once in a blue moon opportunity to see the master of the magic tower in the flesh! Based on the rumours, he always stays in his tower and hates human interaction. Plus! From what I heard, he has an ethereal beauty, though he has a questionable attitude. Either way, this is a big chance!", hindi naman halata na excited siya. Kinilig pa ang gaga eh mukhang nasa 30s or 40s na siya.

But isn't this a great chance for me too? Since the church (Ereus) is useless, maybe the master of the magic tower can help me with my circumstances.

Although wala akong idea kung sino siya but it's worth a try. But a character that wasn't mentioned in the script. How in the world should I approach him?

Nagkwento pa ng kung anu-ano yung babaeng pinagtanungan ko. Okay na rin dahil nakakakalap ako ng information or more like chismiss. 

"Announcing the arrival of the Master of the Magic Tower, Elliott Bradley".

Lahat tuloy kami napadako ang tingin sa may pintuan pero may bigla nalang may sumulpot na tao sa gitna mismo ng banquet hall. It's more like he just teleported here.

'It is really a mage'.

The man is wearing an expensive looking white robe. Lahat ng tao kabilang ako ay napanganga ng tinanggal niya yung hood niya. He has a long silky silver hair! Bakit parang mas maganda pa buhok niya saakin? Aakalain mong laging nagpapa-rebond at hair treatment.

The man and the Emperor briefly exchange their greetings. Dahil sa medyo malayo ako at likod lang ang nakikita ko sakaniya ay hindi ko marinig ang boses nila.

Tinitigan ko ng mabuti yung likod niya. Kailan ka ba lilingon ito? Is it just me, or does his back look a little familiar?

Sa sobrang tutok ko sa likod niya ay nagulat ako nang bigla siyang tumingin sa kung saan ako nakatayo. That startled me!

But I got even more surprised when I saw those familiar golden eyes glaring at me.

Motherfucker! It's that rude jerk I bumped into before!
