That weekend was spent doing fun things outside the house. Jay, Jeremy, Zara, and I did everything together. Saturday was spent at the beach. (The public one all the humans use near town.) With a bonfire at night to top it all off. There was a huge party that Zara was excited about. Some senior classmate's birthday. Jay knew about him but he was human so obviously didn't know a lot. Zara was good friends with him, however, so she invited all of us along.
No one really spoke to Jay and I unless Jeremy pulled us into the conversation. Zara tried a little but I told her not to worry. I could smell people's fear when they saw Jay or me approaching them. Even if it was for some food or drink or just to find a new place to sit and chat.
We left early.
Sunday we met for brunch at the diner again and then spent the day hitting Zara's favourite stores and scenery. Jeremy had made the whole weekend about his mate and Jay and me were third-wheeling their adventure.
Monday morning Jay's dad cornered Jeremy and I before we got into the car with Jay.
"You have a mate." He stated.
Jeremy's eyes widened once he saw how tense the alpha was. "Yea, it would seem so."
Jay's dad frowned, "you will not be allowed to tell her about the existence of werewolves. Period. If you do your life will be forfeit."
Jeremy gaped at him, "no, of course, I won't tell her, sir."
Jay's father gave him a small smile, "good."
Jay grinned out his car door, "I'll tell her if she asks."
His father turned angry eyes onto his son, "you will do no such thing."
Jeremy and I ran into Jay's car before anything else could happen and Jay drove off.
"Well, that will be a fun conversation later," Jay grinned at me as he drove down the hill to school. I frowned at him.
*~*~*~*
The next few weeks went smoothly. There was no sign of my parents inside the house. They had to have been clearing out their things when we were at school, though because they both emptied their room out in no time. My older brothers mostly dealt with them but also barely saw them. I was pretty sure they were avoiding me, which was amazing to me.
I spent Friday nights at Jay's house with pack movie night, and everyday after school training under Jeremy's parents. Weekends were reserved by Zara, Jeremy, and Jay time. As Zara and Jeremy's relationship progressed, Jay and I got invited to more and more human get-togethers and parties.
It was getting to the point where Zara was going to have to find out about Legions. Especially with Jeremy's brother Jacob turning 13 sooner rather than later. With my brother Nicholas' birthday a few months later. This overly large family was about to be all wings, and that might be harder to hide as they become more serious. As it stands, Zara might get permission to sleep over in my room Friday nights since I spend every Friday night having a giant sleepover with Jay's pack.
First, though, Jeremy had to tell her about the wings and magic and stuff.
That whole conversation started with me, actually.
Zara cornered me in first period on Thursday morning, about a week after Jeremy asked her to be his girlfriend officially.
"What happens at your house after school during the week?"
I raised an eyebrow. I could feel Jay scooting as far away from us as he possibly could. "What did Jeremy tell you we do?"
She frowned, "he told me you guys train. Or work out or whatever. But don't twist this question on me. I need answers."
I let out a sigh and smiled, "okay yeah, he's telling you the truth. His dad trains us."
Zara's frown only deepened, "for what?"
I blinked. What were we trained for? The supernatural world? To keep us on our toes? For any impending battles? To make sure we know how to handle our powers? To fight people like rogues (which obviously didn't work that well)?
"Uh," I froze and Zara glared at me.
"No lies!"
"I'm trying not to lie," I told her honestly, "but I'm also not allowed to tell you. Jeremy has to, like legally or something. I'm still new to the rules." I glanced at Jay, and he grinned at us like he wasn't trying to avoid the conversation at all costs.
Jay nodded, "yeah, Jeremy has to tell you."
Zara glanced between Jay and me and then sighed dramatically, "if I come up with you guys after school, can we force him to tell me?"
Jay and I burst out into laughter.
"If you're okay with your world turning upside down," Jay grinned and Zara looked at him with horror. "I'm just warning you. You have to make sure you're ready for the truth."
"Take time to think it through and let us know what you think by the end of the school day," I smiled at Zara encouragingly. "Then I'll convince Jeremy to tell you."
Zara finally sat down in her seat and stared at the front, and the teacher started the lesson. Jay kept glancing at me, and I knew he wanted to say something, but I was trying to pay attention.
At the end of the day, Zara found me before I was even finished at my locker. "I'm coming to find out the truth."
Jay appeared behind me, "awesome, get in the car before Jeremy does."
I laughed, and Jay led Zara out to his car. Jeremy found me, still at my locker a minute later. I had a feeling that we weren't going to class tomorrow if this was all going down tonight, so I was trying to gather all of my school work for the weekend.
"Have you seen Zara?" Jeremy was looking around the semi-empty halls with worry.
I shrugged, "I think I saw her go outside already."
Jeremy frowned at me, and then we walked out to Jay's car together. Jay had made sure Zara had the front passengers seat and Jeremy almost froze when he saw it.
"I'm not ready," Jeremy said as I grabbed him and started dragging him.
"Yeah, well, she is."

Y'all it's been years since I last updated this and I am so sorry for that but wow. Let me just tell you, the last ten chapters derailed so far from where I had originally planned this story going. I reread it all, then went to my plans, and I was like, excuse me? This is not what I posted. So that's my bad! But I honestly like this version best! Only a few chapters left!
Also, I've said for a while that I have a spin off story called "Faster than the Wolves" about Jeremy and Raven's parents I'd like to write, but I also have a different spin off story I think would be super fun.
I hope that get's you all excited!
