Jay and I shared the same bench in a booth at the only diner on this tiny island. There were very slim options for going out to eat and most of them were fast food-related. So this was the better of the lesser evils to convince whomever Jeremy's mate was to come on a date.

Jeremy said she was relieved that it was a double date, but Jay and I figured he didn't tell her it was Jay and me for the other couple. After all, we were the talk of the school now. Everyone was trying to sit with us at lunch and the amount of hate I got from humans was slowly increasing day by day. Today was only Friday, so it was bound to get worse and worse as weeks passed.

I couldn't wait to finish the school year now.

There had been so much drama and so many emotions that I had hoped school could where I could get away, but nope. Even more drama followed me at school too. The werewolves were weird at first, but that was because I almost blew out their ear drums. That and I'm kind of a dick. Once they realized I was on their side, all was fine.

However, the humans were rude and annoying.

The humans, especially the girls, unknowingly knew that Jay was the alpha among the wolves. They saw him as the best conquest and since their emotional teenagers, finding out that he's off the market was a blow to their egos. Jay never even tried to pursue ant of them before I got here (or that's what everyone has been telling me), but they still think they have a chance to woo him over.

This, as you can imagine, has been getting on my nerves. I just accepted what Jay and I are to each other and we're trying this whole thing out right now for the first time. It's hard enough as it is to work on a weird relationship with two different speices of supernatural beings to also put some jelous humans into the mix for no reason.

Jay thought it was funny at first. Now he hates it just as much as I do.

Jeremy finally strolled in just then with a girl following closely behind him. They were both super nervous and when she spotted Jay and I, she went pale.

I recognized her right away. Her name was Zara and she was in a grade bellow the rest of us. I looked at Jay, trying to not smile. He also looked back at me. "Are we making her nervous?"

He nodded his head slightly, "we are making her nervous. I'd suggest not looking at them until they sit down."

"That's a great idea."

Both of us strained our ears to listen. Jeremy was talking, "I promise they are not scary."

Zara was still nervous, "they're popular."

Jeremy laughed, "only Jay is. Raven is my sister and she's annoying."

Jay grinned at me, "you are pretty annoying."

I frowned at him, "watch it. I can make jokes like making you sleep in a dog house and I will think they are very funny."

Jay then looked a little nervous too, "you wouldn't. Please don't make dog jokes."

I raised one eyebrow, "oh I have a bunch ready to fire off."

Jay then clenched his teeth and before he could reply, Jeremy and Zara were sliding into the booth across from us. Jay and I both grinned at them, even though Jay was a little annoyed with me. I could feel it radiating off of him and it was kind of funny because he did say I was annoying two seconds earlier.

Jeremy seemed to notice that Jay was a little off, but he didn't comment on it. "Hey guys, thanks for waiting. This is Zara."

"Hi Zara, I am Raven, this is Jay. We are very excited to meet you."

Jay pinched my side, "I don't need you to introduce me."

I rolled my eyes, "you are being a little big headed. I am being nice."

"Are you guys good?" Jeremy asked.

"He's sour cause I told him to sleep in the dog house."

Jeremy laughed so hard he threw his head back. Jay sunk slowly in his chair. I reached out and grabbed his hand to squeeze. He held mine back, which was a surprise to me. Hecan't be that annoyed then.

When Jeremy finished laughing he smiled at Zara, "feel free to make fun of Jay too. It has some pretty fun outcomes."

"You two are mean." Jay commented. He looked at Zara, "these two are troublesome. They are always up to no good."

Jeremy and I high-fived across the table.

Zara still looked nervous, but not as bad. "Wait so are you guys related or not?"

I shook my head, "our parents basically grew up together and when they all had kids they planned to have them at the same time. So Jeremy and I have our birthday's really close together and they basically call us the twins."

She nodded slowly, "and both of your families live in the same house? Right next to Jay's?"

I gave a nervous laugh, "that was the plan."

Jeremy looked at me with worry, "its best not to bring up Raven's family right now."

I raised an eyebrow at him, "oh it's not?"

Jay bumped into the conversation, "so Zara, did you grow up on the island? I'm sorry I can't quite remember because I was homeschooled for a while."

She nodded and smiled at Jay, probably happy to change the conversation topic. "Yeah! My parents moved here when they got married." I was thankful for that too. I don't know why Jeremy saying that made me angry, but it did. And I can't afford to mess this up for him otherwise I might spend the rest of our lives trying to make it up to him. This was his mate and she's human. She has to figure out there's more to this world than she thinks and making a good first impression is everything.

"That's kind of romantic," I commented and she blushed a little.

"They're kind of gross lovey-dovey."

I laughed, "oh barf."

Jay elbowed me, "ouch."

I rolled my eyes at him again. The waitress finally came over to take our order.

The rest of the conversation was light hearted. I told Zara stories about Jeremy growing up that were super embarrasing, Zara talked about her life a bit too. Jay laughed a lot and Jeremy kind of grovelled.

By the end of our dinner, Zara was a lot more relaxed and Jeremy offered to take her home. I had a feeling we were going to be seeing a whole lot more of her and I was pretty excited for Jeremy's sake. That and she was cool so I was excited to hang out with another girl rather than all dudes all the time.

Jay and I took the long walk back up the hill by ourselves. Hand-in-hand and watching the sun set. It was very romantic and I kind of enjoyed it. Halfway up the hill he stopped to turn and watch the sunset better. Then he pulled me into his arms so my back was pressed up against his chest and we watched it together.

"This is nice," he admitted. "I hope we have a lot more days like this one."

I laughed lightly, "me too, surprisingly."
