We were put into a car and driven a little out of the town to the pack house. It was bigger than Jay's house and definitely bigger than mine. The alpha decided to meet us out of the front lawn and Jay thought this was odd. He figured we would be brought inside to an office. It was more professional that way.
"What are you doing on my land, rouge!" He yelled at Jay as soon as we stepped out of the car.
Jay scrunched his eyebrows, "I'm not a rouge."
"Why else would you be on my land!" The alpha scoffed. He was just as terrifying as the men who had basically kidnapped us.
"We were just passing through on a search party," Jay told him with his hands up in defence, "and we got hungry and stopped for lunch."
The alpha rolled his eyes. "Yea, try again."
Jay looked at me, "okay I'm over this."
"Listen to me, punk!" The alpha screamed and I took a step towards him. He seemed to look at me like I wasn't even there. And he started to laugh.
I took another step towards him and one of the guys from the car clamped his hand down on my shoulder. "Stop."
I clamped my hand over his and pulled him up in the air, over my head and slammed him down in front of me. The alpha stopped laughing and looked at me weirdly. "You're strong for a little girl." The man on the ground was groaning in pain.
I smirked, "oh you have no idea."
I unfurled my wings from my back and stretched them out to their full length. This made the alpha's eyes widen in fear. I jumped over the man on the ground, flapping my wings once to really get over to the alpha and I swung the hardest uppercut I've ever done in my life. The alpha went flying upwards and backwards and then growls erupted from behind Jay.
I turned back to Jay, who was smiling. "That's my mate!" He yelled out to no one in particular, then ran over to me.
I wasn't impressed with that statement but I grabbed Jay's hand and lifted us both off the ground and up into the air. Jay let out a loud "whoop!" when we were high enough that they couldn't reach us but still could hear us. Then he looked up at me as he dangled, "you're the most amazing thing I've ever seen."
I sighed and kept flying. Today was something else.
Eventually, Jay got cold from the air and I figured we were far enough out of that stupid land to be safe. So I lowered back down into a meadow and Jay landed before I did. He shook a little as if that was the best way to get warm.
"Are you okay?" I asked and he turned to me and smiled.
"I should be the one asking you that, you've been carrying me for a couple of hours and you beat up a couple of werewolves."
I shrugged, "I'm fine."
His smile fell and he took a couple of steps towards me, "you've also been awfully quiet."
"I have nothing to say."
He then frowned and pulled me into a hug. I didn't respond, but he was shivering so I hugged him back. Normally he was the heater but I guess werewolves weren't meant for air travel. He seemed to relax after a bit and pulled away finally.
"Let's get going," he gave me another small smile. "We can reach the town and meet up with Jeremy and enter your mom's hometown in no time at all."
I nodded once and he didn't step away, instead, he grabbed my chin again and I was afraid he was going to try to kiss me without permission twice today.
