"Money and Fame, bring a man shame. Aint no doubt about it..."

Y/n's POV

The day had barely begun, yet it was already burdened with quizzes. Who in their right mind would assign a quiz on the first day back after the weekend? An exasperated sigh escaped your lips as you sat in Mr. Beck's Spanish class, painstakingly jotting down the final answer. With a frustrated huff, you tossed your pencil onto the desk.

Determined to take a brief respite from the classroom, you made your way over to Mr. Beck's desk, handing in your quiz. He glanced up, meeting your gaze,

"Can i go to the restroom?"

"No," he replied curtly. You stopped in your tracks, rolling your eyes at his response.

"May I go to the restroom?" you corrected, your tone laced with annoyance.

"Yes, you may," he relented. Seizing the opportunity, you exited the classroom with no intention of returning, instead opting to wander aimlessly around the campus.

As you meandered, the sound of Ned's voice reached your ears from around the corner, drawing your attention. Eavesdropping on their conversation, you couldn't help but smile to yourself. Talking with them was infinitely more entertaining than aimlessly wandering alone.

"Let me guess," you chimed in, rounding the corner and joining Ned and Peter. "He wants to tell the whole school about you being Spider-Man... again?"

"Yup," Peter confirmed, casting a glance towards Ned, and then back at you.

 "It would be SO COOL!"

"No," both you and Peter responded in unison, preemptively dismissing the idea.

"Anyways, I'm not going to class," Peter declared, catching you off guard.

"What?" Ned exclaimed, clearly surprised. "Dude, you're already in trouble for ditching the decathlon!"

"Dude, listen," Peter began, his tone shifting to one of urgency. "I figured it out, right? The wingsuit guy is stealing from Damage Control. He uses what he takes to make his weapons. So all I—"

"We," you interjected,

"...we gotta do is catch him," Peter continued, undeterred.

"But... you have a Spanish quiz," you pointed out, your arms crossed. "I just took it. If you want, I can give you the answers. It was kinda easy."

"See! It all works out! Besides, I'm probably never going to come back here. Mr. Stark is moving the Avengers upstate, so when I bring this guy in—"

"Woah, woah, woah, wait," you interrupted, halting his train of thought. "You'd rather leave, with Stark?"

"Dude, you wanna be a high school dropout!" Ned interjected, his voice filled with disbelief.

"Guys, not important at the moment," he interjected, attempting to refocus the conversation.

"Peter-"

"Look, I know you're not his biggest fan Y/n, why? I dont know but he seems to like me so"

You rolled your eyes as his grip tightened on his backpack straps, "Um ok so we're talking again later" He declared after your last comment as he turned and started walking back, only to collide straight into the principal.

"Parker, my office," the principal's stern voice rang out, demanding his attention.

"So, you got detention. You screwed up," Steve's voice resonated with disappointment. "You know what you did was wrong. The question is, how are you gonna make things right? Maybe you were trying to be cool..."
