"She looks just like a dream, prettiest girl ive ever seen..."
Y/n's POV
You stepped into the living room, the familiar sound of laughter from the TV drawing your attention. "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" played on the screen, and there sat your sister, Wanda, and Bucky on the couch, sharing a bowl of popcorn between them. They were engrossed in the show, with Wanda curled up next to Bucky, their smiles and laughter filling the room.
"Hey, Wanda?" you called out, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as you fiddled with your hands.
Wanda turned her attention to you, a smile still lingering on her face. "Yeah, what's up?"
"It's Homecoming night," you announced, the words tumbling out with a mix of anticipation and eagerness.
"Already? I thought it was tomorrow!" Wanda exclaimed, immediately getting up from the couch, leaving Bucky behind. "Don't finish the episode without me," she said to him before grabbing your hand and pulling you into your room.
You settled down in front of the small vanity, glancing at the mirror that reflected your partially completed living space. "Thank goodness we already have a dress and an idea, or else we'd be in big trouble," Wanda remarked, grabbing the hair curler and the makeup box from the corner and bringing them over to you.
"We don't need to go all out, I'm just hanging out with friends," you replied, trying to contain your excitement.
"I get it, it's Homecoming, not prom, but still!" Wanda said, plugging in the curler and turning it on. "Did you text Nat?"
"Oh my gosh! I forgot!" you exclaimed, retrieving your phone from your pocket and hurriedly sending a text to your aunt.
Your phone dinged a few seconds later, signaling a response.
Assassin Auntie
And I'm just hearing about this now!? Of all the days Homecoming lands on, I had to be doing something out of state.
It's ok. How are Lena and the fam?
A typical family reunion. Anyways, I will definitely be there for your prom. Send pictures!
Lol ok, love you!
You smiled as you turned your attention back to Wanda, who had already begun curling your hair. As she worked her magic, you focused on applying your makeup, opting for a natural yet noticeable look. Wanda curled your hair to match, creating elegant waves, and pulled it up into a half-up, half-down style. Once you were both done, you shared a nod of approval, appreciating the transformation.
"Now hurry up and put on your dress, you don't want to be late," Wanda instructed, leaving your room and shutting the door behind her. You walked over to your closet, anticipation building as you examined the dress hanging on the door. It was a two-piece ensemble, featuring a tank top-style crop top and a flowy skirt adorned with a beautiful floral and leaf design. The dress boasted a stunning shade of pink that made your heart flutter. While it had a hint of prom dress elegance, Wanda had insisted it was perfect for the occasion. You slipped on a pair of comfortable yet stylish shoes, opting for a practical choice that wouldn't sacrifice your comfort throughout the night.
With a smile of satisfaction, you took a few steps back and admired yourself in the mirror hanging on the back of the door. The reflection displayed a vision of beauty and excitement. Eager to share the moment, you grabbed your phone and quickly snapped a picture, sending it to your aunt.
You chuckled at the lively exchange of messages with your aunt and Lena, grateful for their playful banter and support. The anticipation in the air was palpable as you prepared to leave your room, a soft gasp escaping your lips as you rounded the corner and entered the living room.
