There were about two more weeks before the Sports festival. It'll be broadcasted live on TV, too...
I'm going to go up against multiple students in the hero course...and they're all strong! Will I do well? This is the event where I get to show e pros what I'm made of.
But it's also an event everyone will see what I'm made of—my classmates, the rest of UA's first-year batch, and everyone outside. All of them will see the quirk everyone called "too flashy" and "too strong" last year.
Everyone will see the girl dubbed as "the fortunate one".The events of what had happened yesterday bogged my mind, accompanying my other thoughts.
I stared at the path I chose to run on that morning.
Just focus.
——
Time passed in a blink of an eye, and soon, it was already the day of the Sports festival.
I read the words of encouragement my parents had sent me while on the way to school.
I was excited to have a day of sports with my friends but as I got closer and closer to school, and as the clock got closer to 8 AM, anxiety began to creep up.As I neared the school building, I could see colorful fireworks around the school. Maybe this won't be so bad.
When I entered, the pathway was lined with stalls selling food and games. Residents from outside filled the campus grounds to watch the Sports Festival in person and pro heroes scouting for potential sidekicks and interns. It hit me, I never thought I'd get the chance to be in an event like this.
As I walked over to the school stadium, a bunch of arms wrap around my shoulders from behind. "Surprise!" Hagakure beamed.
"Oh, goodness, hey." I greeted.
"Pumped up and ready for the festival, girls?" Uraraka asked.
I fed off their optimism, "Yeah!" We all exclaimed cheerfully. When we got into our waiting rooms, we promptly changed into our gym uniforms.
"Man...I wanted to wear my hero costume," Mina said disappointedly, looking at the blue uniform. "Same," Rui said.
"To keep everything fair, we can't," Ojiro told."Oh, makes sense." I chuckled as I put on my hero costume shoes. I was granted permission to wear them as they had soles that'll help grip onto anything I make that I can fly on.
I wasn't fond of using my solidification abilities but using it for flying was bearable. Not using my solidification at all felt foolish too.
I had to prove myself worthy of respect.
"I wonder what the first round's gonna be..." I said, turning over to Haruka.
"Who knows? Let's just hope it's easy." She giggled.Suddenly, Iida opened the door and informed us that we would be entering soon. I clenched my fists nervously, exhaling deeply. "I'm nervous."
"I'm sure we'll do fine!" Kaminari said optimistically, looking at me from another table.
"Midoriya," Todoroki called as he walked over to the freckled boy.
"Todoroki? What is it?"We all turned our attention to the two guys.
"Looking at things objectively, I think I'm stronger than you," Todoroki said.I was a little shocked, and I could tell Midoriya was, too.
"Y-yeah..." Midoriya muttered in agreement.
"But... All Might has his eye on you, doesn't he? I'm not trying to pry about that. But I'm going to beat you."
Midoriya looked at him, eyes wide in shock.
"Oh? Is this the best in the class making a declaration of war?" Kaminari said.
Kirishima looked a little bothered and got up from his seat, walking over to Todoroki. "Hey, hey, hey! Why are you picking a fight all of a sudden? Not now, we're about to start!"
