A/N: Hey everyone! This is just fanfiction for my bnha oc, Raiha Kanami. I created her character quite a long time ago and once I settled on a plot idea I liked for her, I decided to give it a shot and write out her story!

(^as of May 2022 I have added her character ref sheet here for visualization purposes instead)

Her quirk is called Red Current. She's able to emit light-red water from her hands and control its movement telekinetically. She can also solidify said water.
>The water she emits is light red due to a villain attack that she was exposed to as a kid. There was a villain who acted as a distraction and emitted a harmless red gas that once inhaled affected a person's physical body (in terms of skin tone, eye color, hair color, or even blood vessels). During this period, Kanami's quirk cells were affected and thus giving her quirk and hair this red color.

A little note, the italicized text shows her thoughts (Most of the time). This fanfiction is also from her perspective, so I will be using pronouns like "I", "I'm", etc.
Of course, I'm not a professional at writing so I'm just having fun here and I hope you guys will have fun reading more of Kanami's story as her story progresses.

Also, all the art in this story is original. I'll be drawing for scenes where I think fit best and help enhance the story.
Enjoy! ❤️

-Prologue-
The memory of being exposed to a villain attack when I was younger is still vivid in my head.
I remember seeing people run and panic. Their faces filled with urgency and fear, I didn't like it.

My quirk manifested at that moment. It only got stronger overtime.

I remember being bullied or taunted by some of my schoolmates.

"You're full of yourself, aren't you?"

"Wow, what a unique power."

"Be happy you were born with a strong, flashy quirk."

As mad as I was, I understood the origins of their behaviour. I struggled to go against it due to that. But no matter what I did, the feeling of everyone's eyes lingering on me and nitpicking every small detail about me stuck.
Can't I be viewed more than a quirk that I can't even activate often?

People who were quirkless or had weak, or "odd" quirks getting bullied was a common sight too. They had faces filled with fear, ones more serious than the ones I've seen before. My heart would clench—seeing their eyes widen when they're close to people who've hurt them.

But, even though life can be unfair, it doesn't mean that it's always bad. People can help make it better for others.

With that, I knew I wanted to become a hero that others can rely on. I wanted to be a hero that makes people feel calm when I'm there.
I wanna save people by using the power that others have made me feel guilty for having.
