A day has passed since the tragedies of summer camp. Turns out I had fallen unconscious after it, and throughout the time I was, Recovery girl had managed to heal me.
I looked at my body, my hand was wrapped in a cast as well as my head and torso. I had a couple of scratches and my body hurt but I was able to stay conscious like normal. But my head was busy to the point I could focus like usual.
But then a knock on the door and All Might and a detective entered the room. I was informed that they'd visit a bit after I woke up but hearing that the heroes and police forces were already starting to fix this mess brought a level of peace to me.
"Good to see you're doing fine, Young Kanami!" All Might greeted, "My apologies for...what transpired." I waved my hand, "It's alright, All Might."
But I couldn't bring the energy to greet him more energetically like I usually did.
The detective gave me a short bow before introducing himself as Mr Tsukauchi, asking me for any details I could provide on the incident.
I couldn't tell them much other than Muscular mentioning a list. "From what I remember of the battle and what he said, I'm assuming the list is a 'kill list.'"
I pinched my skin gently. Damn it, would they even accept a guess?
They asked me about the battle and I told them everything while Mr Tsukauchi noted it down. After it, the pair thanked me.
"Fighting a villain of that strength must've been scary, you did a good job helping to save the kid Kota. Thank you, Young Kanami! We'll be sure to save Young Bakugo quickly." All Might said.
My fingers tapped a rhythm on the blanket, "Your w...elcome." My voice was quivering, I looked down.
All Might placed his arm on my shoulder, "I know that you're worried about Bakugo's safety, but you can leave it to us. Bakugo's a strong kid too, he'll be alright."
"It doesn't feel alright—being able to only help this way," I said. "I don't even know what happened to him after being pulled into that portal." "This is the only way you can help now. You fought Muscular without permission but Eraserhead insisted on taking responsibility for it. We took your case as self-defense." Mr Tsukauchi said, tapping his pen. "But if this were a different situation and you fought deliberately, then that would lead to charges."
I nodded to reply. "Oh, also, Kanami. Eraserhead told me to give you this," All Might said, taking out a folded note from his pocket.
I was confused but took it. "We'll be taking our leave now, thanks for the help!" The top hero said.
"You're welcome."

The door slid shut and I slumped against my pillow. A nap sounded lovely. I turned my hand and read the words, realizing it was a letter from Kota:
Dear Miss Kanami, I'm sorry I was rude to you at first. Thank you for saving me even though you barely knew me. Please get better soon so that I can thank you properly.
