Stop Raiding My Heart

Chapter 21

     "Iza do you think tonight she can sleep in her bed?" Gage asked as he placed the child on the bed.

"Only if you move it in here. She is not old enough to sleep completely alone." Iza said as she looked over at her child. "She's so little still."

"She is an infant Iza. They happen to be small." Gage chuckled as he kissed the top of Iza's head. "She will get bigger in about eighteen years." Iza pushed Gage playfully. The door to their room burst open. Iza stands up quickly.

"Why that face Iza we've come to celebrate your victory. We brought the good stuff." Mason said drunken as he stumbled to Iza. Gage grabbed his shoulders and sat him on a couch.

"Can we not have one night of peace?" Gage said with defeat, as he sat next to Mason.

"Last time you "had a night of peace" you made a baby. So, no more nights of peace." Mason said  sarcastically,as he gestured to the child. "I mean do you really need another kid?"

"Mason it is not up to you when I want to be alone with Iza. It is not a group project." Gage said as he took the bottle from Mason.

"Bringing that baby into this world was a group project. All of us were here." Nisha said as she walked to Iza. "That was but a few weeks ago. So much has happened since that day. However Mason is right we do not need another distraction."

"Violet is not a distraction. Iza and I have her care and the care of the park under control. We almost have all of the commonwealth filling your pockets. And we have a supplier of ammo and steel. We have accoplished a lot in these past few months." Gage said as he drank form Mason's bottle.

"Gage I thought you didn't drink." Mason said as he looked shocked at the raider next to him.

"It is not often I do. It fogs the mind." Gage said as he gives the bottle back to the raider beside him. "I have to be more alert than ever before because I now have a family to protect, not just myself."

"You know Gage I have known you for a long, long time and I never thought you would care for a child." Shank said as he walked into the room. "You are still blood thirsty though."

"I am not blood thirsty I just kill when it is needed." Gage said as he looked over at Iza. "Hey be quite for a minute so she can put the baby to sleep." The raiders hushed quickly. Iza walks into the other room with the baby.

"Where is she going?" Red- eye said as he watched the woman.

"She went to put the baby to sleep. She has to feed her before putting her to sleep. Violet doesn't wake up in the middle of the night if she is fed." Gage said as he looked at Red-eye. "She does not cry often, but when she does it is loud and hard to stop."

"You know Gage. I have always wondered do you have more children? Or better question do you want more?" Mason asked as he moved closer to the raider.

"First question it is a possiblity, but they mean nothing to me if I did have any. Second question I do not know at this time. We might want another, or make another. She was not planned in the slightest."

"So she was a mistake?" Shank asked as he lit a cigarette.

     "Iza wouldn't like you smoking in here. Baby normally sleeps in here. Take it on the balcony." Gage said as he glared at Shank. The Overboss returned to the room. "She asleep?"

      "She is asleep. That mean y'all do not get too loud." Iza said in a tired voice. She walked over to Gage and sat next to him opposite to Mason. Gage pulls the woman onto his lap.

     "Can't even wait until we leave to get handsy. Damn you dog." Mason said as he leaned over into Gage's shoulder. "I'm sure you see her back a lot."

      "What is that supposed to mean?" Iza chuckled as she fell backwards into Gage's chest. "Is my face not pretty enough for missionary?" She joked at the raider next to her.

     "I never said that. It is easier to go ham if you're doing back shots. Am I right men?" Mason said as he placed his hand on the woman's thigh.

      "Mason still not interested in you." Iza chuckled as Gage glared at the raider. "Only interested in him."

      "What does he have that I don't?" Mason said as he began to trail his hand on her thigh.

      "Well Gage is sweet, he saved my life, he has...um "great experience" with women. And he's a great dad." Iza said as she felt the raider hardened underneath of her. She picked up Mason's hand and placed it on his own thigh.

       "So what is the plan now? We have the commonwealth, the park and a steel plant. What is our next score?" Nisha said trying to change the subject.

       "We will focus on fortifying what we have now. After that we will extend west. Eyes on New Vegas." Iza said as she looked at the metal wearing raider.

        "They have Caesar's legion up there. They would steal your child and sell her as a slave." Shank said as he sat across from Iza. "Are you worried about that?"

"I am not because she will not go." Iza said harshly. "Violet will remain here under the care of trusted people."

"You can't trust anyone Iza. I thought being a raider would have taught you that." Shank said with venom in his voice.
