Stop Raiding My Heart

Chapter 2

~Third Person~
   He took Iza into the structure, they used a wooden elevator to reach the top floor. He sat her on the couch. "You got a few gunshot wounds. I can help, but you have to remove your pants. The other bullet is in your side, so you do not have to take your shirt off."
"Where am I?" She asked looking around the room. "What happened?"
"You are in Nuka World. You defeated our Overboss, and now you are the Overboss." He said as he stood from the couch. "Now we have to get those bullets out." He grabbed a bottle and a med kit. "You dont have to trust nor like me, but I am trying to help you not die. It would make a shitty first impression."
"Fine." She said. "Can you help me?" She asked looking the male. He walked over to the woman and held his hand out. She grabbed it and pulled herself up from the couch. She shimmed off her pants along with her leg armor. He sat her back down. He sat on the ground beside the couch. "I have seen you before." She said as he poured the liquid on the wound. Iza flinched slightly. Gage looked up at her before he pulled the bullet out using old rusted pair of tweezers.
"Where from?" He asked as he stitched the leg. "I don't remember seeing you."
"In the combat zone. You were at the bar with a shit ton of women."
"That place is for raiders. You don't look like much of a raider.What were you doing there?" He asked sharply. "Were you the one who took Cait?"
"I am. I ended up there on accident and felt bad for her." Iza defended. "She's safe now, and better than ever. We did a lot of great things together to improve the lives of all in the commonwealth."
      "Like what?" His tone was annoyed.
       "We defeated the Institute together. And then we separated after our victory."
         "You? Defeated the Institute?" He chuckled. "Not likely. That would take a lot of fire power that is impossible for two people to wield." He brushed off her accomplishment. "If we're gonna work together you can't keep lying to me. It not good to lie to the one watching your back."
"I'm not lying. I killed my son and his life's work. I found him. Made my way into their ranks and then when he was on his death bed I hit self destruct. Therefore, her and I defeated the institute." Iza explained, but the raider rolled his eyes. "If you still don't believe me that's fine. I have no right to trust you either."
"You trusted me when I told you to use the squirt gun. And here we are, you're still alive and he's dead." He snakily replied. "You trusted me a little."
     "You were convincing."
"That's what you call it." He looked up at the woman as he finished treating her wounds. "Anyway I should know the name of the new boss?"
"Iza. I know you are Porter."
"Don't call me that. Its Gage." Aggression filled his voice. "I will let that time slide , but it's Gage from now on. Got me?"
"Yes Gage. I thought I was the Overboss here, yet you're giving me orders." Her tone changed to sarcasm.
"You are, but I am your right hand man. I was Colter's. My talents are best put to use helping you get all this shit under control. You can either take my advice and improve this hellhole or you can sit on your ass like Colter. You wont get very far sitting on your ass. We will just replace you like we did him."
"Who is we?" Confusion filled her face. "And you planned for me to kill him?"
"No specifically you, but someone to replace him. And the other gang leaders. It took a lot to get them to even look in each other's direction, Colter did nothing he promised to them. They got mad and so we all came up with a plan to get him "out of the way." If you get me?" Gage explained as he stood from the ground. "I think it wise to keep your promises to the gang leaders."
"I think I do. What do you mean he did not keep his promises? Do I have to give these people money?"
"In a sense yes, however it is more complicated than that. These raiders are not like the commonwealth raiders. We are more organized and more violent in a sense. Everything is loyalty based. You earn their loyalty you earn their help when you need it. As long as you keep your promises to them, they will remain loyal to you." Gage said as he helped Iza to her feet. "You can worry about all of them tomorrow. You need rest to help your wounds, they should be healed somewhat by tomorrow morning." Iza stood with his help, but stumbled into his side. He helped her stand once more, this time holding most of her weight. "I've got you." He said as he practically carried the woman to the bed. Gage placed her gently on the bed. "There you go. If you need me I will be sleeping on the couch over by the bar, just yell to get my attention."
"Gage thank you." Iza said as she laid down flat on the bed. "You go from nice to cruel in the matter of seconds. Work on that." Iza said as she turned away from the male. He smiled softly as he walked from the platform that the bed sat on top of. He walked to his couch as Iza fell asleep. He looked over one more time before sitting down on the couch and falling asleep.
