Stop Raiding My Heart

Chapter 18

     "That is not why we came." Iza said as she peeked in the door. "We're checking on the raiders."

        "I see you brought your pet out." Will said as he pointed to the baby. "This is no place for a baby. All children get sold, yours is no different. It just means she is worth more."

       "I think it wise to shut your trap." Gage said as he looked in disgust. "We could sell you to Will."

       "We are not selling each other. All of us are staying where we are at." Iza intervened. "If we continue this Nuka World will weaken. We don't want out enemies to see us as weak raiders."

        "We used to be feared, but now the baby has ruined that." Will said as he approached the women and child. "You should go see Nisha now. I think Savoy needs to speak with you."

"Let's go Gage." Iza said in disgust. Gage followed the Overboss from the Parlor to the mountain. They enter the side door and are greeted with the smell of rot. Iza covers the baby's face as they climb the ramps to the top. Savoy stops them before they reach Nisha. "Savoy always good to see you."

"Boss you should watch your back. There are snakes in the fields." He said stoutly. "We are not these snakes."

"I know Savoy. You would never break my trust." Iza said with gratitude. "We will stomp out this threat to Nuka World when it shows itself." Iza said before her and Gage left Savoy. The couple walked up the catwalk to Nisha's shack.

"Ah if it isn't the Overboss." Nisha greeted. "I see you brought the child. She has grown much."

        "Yes she has. However, she's not why we've come. We've come to check on the progress of each gang while we've both been on a leave of sorts." Iza said as she sat next to Nisha.

         "Well everything is running smoothly on my end. My raiders are rich and happy with the blood they are spilling. You have really improved Nuka World boss we are indebted to you." Nisha said as she placed her hand on Iza's thigh. "We will provide protection for you and your family. We will always be ready to spill blood in your honor."

"It is appreciated Nisha." Gage said as he looked at the two women. "Iza it's getting late."

"We should celebrate you returning to your post boss. Everyone will be happy to know things are still running smoothly. Many people knew about your troublesome labor. Rumors spread like wildfire here."

       "Nisha we will party when I have fully healed from having Violet. I can promise that." Iza said as she stood from the couch. Nisha nodded as the couple left the shack and the cave. they walked to the elevator at Fizz top and rode up to the penthouse.

      "Will's actions concern me." Gage admitted. "I do not trust any of them boss."

      "Gage we will watch the operators closely. We will also watch Shank. All of them hate my way, as well as our daughter." Iza said as she placed the baby onto the center of their bed. "As long as she is with us she is protected from harm."

     "Yes, but she is also growing up around raiders. We have to remember that Iza." Gage said as he walked over to the bed. "She is still so little. Too small to hold a rifle." He chuckles softly.

      "Well she is a week old Gage. They normally are not big." Iza chuckled as she looked up at Gage. "When she comes of age we will teach her how to shoot, but right now we need to teach her how to be a person. That comes before guns."

     "We should have a gun made for her. Special modified semi automatic rifle. I mean we can afford that luxury for her." he chuckled as a two Pack members entered the room.

    "Mason sends his regrades." One of them said as he placed a large bag of caps on the desk by the door. "It is your portion of the haul boss."

    "Thank you. You may return to Mason." Iza dismissed the two and they left swiftly. "Just because we have the caps does not mean we start building this gun now she is still years off from being able to even hold a light weapon." Iza said as she played with the baby with one of her hands.

    "I know. I guess it just gives me something to look forward too. I mean Violet is the first thing I have that is mine that I have to raise and care for."

   "You are her father yes, but I am also here." Iza chuckles as she looked at the man across from her. "You've done great this first week." She praised the man.

   "I sure hope so boss. I am winging this."

   "That's what parenting is Gage."

    "So we are doing it right then?" He looks at Iza as she nodded at him. "I thought I would be raising her alone and that thought scared me. Losing you scared me. I thought you were joking when you asked me to make the right choice if things went south. And then they did go south and I was given a choice but I stood firm in my belief that you would pull through. When you woke up I was so relived." He admitted. She grabbed his hand on his thigh. "I've never felt this way before Iza. I love you."

"And I love you Gage." She smiled softly. "I know you'd make the right choice. After all you are my most trusted advisor." She playfully shoved him.
