Three weeks later

"Have a great day at school bambina. I love you." I kissed the top of Caterina's head.
"Be good. Be kind. Learn lots!" Maya hugged her before she hopped on the school bus. We waved goodbye as they drove off.

"Okay. Let's go before we're late to our appointment." I took her hand in mine and we got into the car.
"Are you excited? I'm excited. I can't believe we get to see the little nugget today." Maya was practically bouncing in the driver's seat as she drove the car to the hospital.
"Bambina, you're shaking the car!" I laughed.
"I'm sorry. I'm just excited. We're adding another little nugget to the family." She reached over and took my hand in her's.
"I am too. I hope the bambina or bambino looks like you." I smiled and kissed the back of her hand as she put the car in park.
"I wouldn't mind another mini you running around."

We got out of the car and walked into the hospital, taking the elevator to the OB floor.
"Hey! How are you two doing?" Jo asked as we walked up.
"We're good. How's Luna?"
"Amazing. We need to get the kids together soon. Luna misses her big cousin." Jo motioned for us to follow her into the exam room.
"Okay, are you having any morning sickness? Any cravings?" Jo asked as she rolled over the ultrasound.
"A little morning sickness and major cravings. I've been craving a Big Mac from McDonald's." I laughed and laid down on the table while rolling my shirt up.
"Good. Those are good. Maya, you better get used to midnight runs." Jo laughed.
"I'll do midnight runs every night for you." She gave me a smile and kissed my forehead.
"Okay, so you're six weeks today..." Jo trailed off as she moved the wand over my stomach.
"Jo? What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothings wrong. The uh, the babies are growing as expected." She cleared her throat.
"Did you say-"
"Babies?" Maya finished.
"Uh yeah. Babies." She turned the screen to face us and I gasped.

"Tri- What?" Maya breathed out

"Tri- What?" Maya breathed out. I felt the grip she had on my hand loosen and heard a thud.
"Bambina!" I turned and saw my wife passed out on the floor.
"Maya, Maya wake up for me." Jo ran to her side and gently shook her.
"What happened?" She groaned.
"You passed out bambina. Are you okay?"

Jo grabbed a chair and pushed it up to the bed, and helped Maya into it.
"Did she say triplets? There's three babies in there?" Maya looked up at me with tears in her eyes.
"Sì, bambina. She said triplets." I sighed and rubbed my forehead.
"The good news is, Baby A, B, and C all look healthy. Triplets are usually delivered a little early, and spend some time in the NICU, but that's nothing abnormal." Jo printed off a few pictures for us and turned the machine off.
"Thank you, Jo." I said as she walked out of the room.
"Are you okay bella?" I pulled my shirt down and squatted next to her side.
"We're having fucking triplets?" Maya looked over at me.
"I know it's not what we expected but-"
"No, I'm happy. I'm just shocked. Like, is this a dream?" She chuckled slightly.
"No bella, it's not a dream."
"Can I see?" She motioned to the picture.
I handed it to her and she gently rubbed her finger over it.
"We're gonna have four kids."
"We're gonna need a bigger house." I laughed.
