Chapter Twenty-Three

Carina
Five weeks later

"Good morning beautiful!" Maya exclaimed as she walked into the bedroom.
"Bambina, it's too early." I whined.
"We have our ultrasound today. And hopefully we'll be able to tell the sex of the babies. And 19 and I have to move our stuff into the new house today." Maya moved and straddled my lap.
"You're looking extra beautiful today bambina." I sat up and gave her a quick kiss.
"As do you amore mio. Now, let's get you up and dressed. Let's go see our babies."

"Maya and Carina! It's so lovely to see you both again." Addison hugged us both.
"You as well. You shouldn't have flown all the way out here for our ultrasound."
"I've been wanting to visit Amy anyway. Plus I wanna see those babies I helped put in there. Are you both ready?"
"Sì." I hopped on the table and rolled up my shirt.
"We have a bet going on at the station. Everyone has voted on what they think the sex of the babies are going to be." Maya said happily.
"And what do you two want?" Addison asked as she squirted the jell on my belly.
"We just want the bambini to be healthy. Everything has been perfect so far, and we want it to keep it that way."

"I like your thinking. Okay, so let's get this started." Addison placed the wand on my stomach, and I grabbed Maya's hand.
"Okay... so baby A." She moved the wand slightly. "Baby A is a girl!"
"Oh my God! Another girl!" Maya laughed with tears in her eyes.
"Baby B... is a boy!"
"A bambino." I squeezed my wife's hand.
"And baby C is being a little stubborn." Addison gently nudged my belly.

"Maya, do the thing you do."

She cleared my throat and leaned close to my belly,
"You are my sunshine
My only sunshine

Please don't take my sunshine away"

The babies started wiggling and moving on the screen, allowing Addison to see.
"Baby C is another boy!" She pulled the wand away and helped clean off Carina's belly.
"Congratulations Mommies!"
"Oh my God. Two boys and a girl. This is amazing!" Maya leaned forward and kissed my forehead.
"Now, I plan to have you induced at thirty-three weeks, since the babies are actually measuring a little bit ahead."
"Yep. Those are my babies. Always have to be first." Maya chuckled.
"I'll fly out to deliver. And if you go into labor sooner that, I can be here in less than three hours."
"That sounds wonderful. Thank you Addison. We appreciate everything you've done for us."
"Anything for family. Now, if you'll excuse me. I promised Scout and my son that I would take them for ice cream."

"This is fantastic bambina! How are we going to come up with three names?" I hopped off of the table and grabbed my purse.
"Well... I had already thought of one." Maya said as we walked to the elevator.
"You did?"
"Yeah. I was thinking about Andrea. For one of the boys." Maya said carefully.
I felt tears well up in my eyes as I took a deep breath.
"I know there can really be only one Andrea. But I was thinking, what a better way to honor your brother by giving one of our sons his name?" Maya continued.
"I love it bambina. And I love you. You're so thoughtful." I leaned forward and gently kissed her lips.
"I'm so thoughtful that everyone is coming to our new house tonight for dinner." Maya said quickly as she pushed the button for the garage.
"What?"
"Uh, all of our friends are coming to our house for dinner? Surprise?" Maya gave me the smile that she always gave me when she tried to get out of trouble.
"Maya we have to get home and move all the stuff I need to start cooking and-"
"The team has already moved our stuff in. They've been busting ass since we left. Andy, Vic, and my Mom are taking care of cooking and decorating. All we have to do, is stop by Hobby lobby and buy the gender reveal confetti thingys. I asked them to set aside three of each just in case."
"You really have thought of everything."
