Chapter Thirty

Maya

Carina and I decided to take a few weeks off work to help with Andy. The new captain argued for a bit, but then he realized who Andy's father was, he was okay with me taking off.
Miranda told Carina to take off as much time as she needed. But she warned that she better not put off any doctor's appointments. We go later today to check on the bambini.

"Mommy?"
"Yes, my love?" I turned and put a Mickey Mouse shape pancake on Cat's plate.
"When's Tía Andy gonna get better?"
"Soon, baby girl. Soon. She's just been through a lot and she has to take care of herself. And we have to help her, Auntie Vic, and baby Xander."
"Baby Xander isn't here yet!" Cat giggled.
"But he's in his Mommy's belly. Like you were in your biological Mom's belly."

"One time, my biological Mamma got mad at me and hurt my arm." Cat stated as she took a bite from her pancake.
"What? What did she do baby?" I tried to ask nonchalantly.
"She twisted it like this," Cat moved her arm back behind her back. "I got to wear a pink cast."

"Good morning Bishop-DeLuca's." Vic walked in and kissed the top of Cat's head.
"Vic, can you keep an eye on her? I need to talk to Carina real quick."
Vic nodded and sat down at the table next to Cat.

I walked into our bedroom, where Carina was struggling to put a shirt on.
"Do you know what that piece of shit did to our daughter?" I whisperer yelled as I shut the door.
"What piece of shit? What happened? Is Caterina okay?" Carina turned and tried to get her shirt down.
"Her biological mother." I walked to my wife and gently helped her slide down her shirt.
"Hey, calm down Bambina. Talk to me."  Carina grabbed my hand and sat me down on the bed.
"Cat just told me her biological mother- I don't even like calling her that. Her egg donor, got mad once, twisted her arm, and she had to wear a cast."
"Hey, look at me. She's okay now. She's safe now. She's with us. No matter what that - that, cagna did. She's safe now. Okay? Our baby girl is safe." Carina gently kissed my forehead.
"You're right." I whispered and gripped her hands tighter.

"Grandma!" We heard Cat yell excitedly.
"What's my mom doing here?" I stood up and helped Carina stand.
"She wanted some quality time with her grandchild. Plus you need a break. You've been taking care of us all." Carina took my hand in her's and led me out of the bedroom.

"Oh, I've missed you sweetheart." My mom was hugging Cat.
"Hey Mom. How are you liking your new apartment?" I asked as we walked up.
"I love it. Thank you for helping me look for one, Carina."
"Be good for Grandma, okay bug?" I held my arms out and Cat ran into them, squeezing me in a hug.
"I will Mommy. I promise." Cat let go to hug her Mamma, and grabbed her backpack.

"Bye guys! We'll see you later!" My mom waved as the two of them walked out of the house.
"Listen to that." Vic whispered with a small smile.
"To what?" I questioned.
"Silence."
"Until Andrea wakes up, then it'll be loud a-"
"Good morning DeLuca-Bishops! And wifey." Andy hollered as she limped into the kitchen.
"Like I said." Carina chuckled.
"How are you feeling? Your memory any better?" I asked as I handed her a plate of pancakes.
"Kinda. I'm remembering more. I remember where Vic and I live, I just don't remember the whole wife thing."
"Amelia said it'll take time. You'll remember soon." I rubbed her back gently.

"But, we have to go to our baby appointment. We'll be home in an hour and a half if they're on time with their appointments." Carina grabbed her purse and I quickly took it from her, slinging it over my shoulder.
"Baby, you're a doctor there. You know they'll kick you to the top of the line." I laughed.
"Hush. Let's go. Let us know if you two need anything."

Carina

We walked into the OB office to see Amelia standing and waiting for us by the front desk.
"My favorite lesbians! Come on back guys." Amelia smiled cheekily at us and led us to the back.
"You know, technically we're still bisexuals Amelia." I pointed out.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever Doctor Orgasm." She chuckled.
"I-"
"Don't you even start, Fire Fighter Barbie. I just know you guys have kinky sex."
"Amelia! Filter!" We heard Addison call out.
"Addisons here." Maya asked.
"On the laptop DeLuca-Bishops!"

Amelia turned the laptop around and we saw Addison waving to us.
"I couldn't fly out, my son is sick. But I figured I'd at least be there somehow."
"Thanks Addison. We appreciate it." I smiled as I hopped on the table.
"Okay, so you're twenty one weeks, right?"
I nodded as I pulled my shirt up and Amelia put the gel on my belly.

"Okay, let's check out these babies." Amelia started to move the wand around.
"Look at them. I can already see the perfect heartbeats." Addison commented.
"Alright, there's Megan." Amelia pointed to the screen.
"And Matteo, and Andrea." Amelia moved the wand and pointed to the two bambinos.
"They're looking a little big for their age," Addison commented. "Move me a little closer to the screen Amy."
Amelia picked up the laptop, and placed it on a table closer to the screen.
"What do they look like they're weighing?" I asked.
"You still have eleven weeks to go, but they're measuring three weeks ahead."
"Is that bad? Is something wrong?" Maya asked.

"No, no honey. They're just big babies. The average weight for a triplet is three pounds each, they're measuring about two already. But we can never get an accurate weight with just one fetus. Especially not three."
"So, does that change anything?" Maya gripped my hand gently.
"I'm still planning on inducing at thirty-two weeks. That's full term for triplets. But, if they do decide to come early, then they should be great. We'll just give them steroids to help with their lungs."
"Andrea was a big baby when he was born. He was so chubby." I chuckled.
"I guess they get that from their Zio then." Maya smiled down at me.

"Pictures?" Amelia asked.
"Always." I nodded.

"And how's Andy feeling?"
"Better. She's moving around more. She still doesn't remember everything."
"If some of her memory of Vic hasn't come back in a week, I'll do another scan." Amelia stated as she grabbed the ultrasounds and handed them to us.
"Remember, call me if anything feels weird. I have to make sure my favorite patients are okay. I can fly out with a couple hours notice."
"What happens if you can't? What will happen then?" Maya asked.
"If something delays the plane, I'll take the hospital helicopter. If weather delays that, then Amelia and Jo will deliver."
"Yeah Doctor Orgasm. You found my tumor, I get to catch your babies when they fly out of your vagina."
"Okay, babies don't fly out of vaginas. It is perfectly natural and beautiful." I playfully rolled my eyes.

Eleven more weeks. We can make it. Right?

I'm baaaaccccckkkkkk! Sorry for the major delay. Work has been kicking my ass, and I'm planning my daughters birthday party. Which is stressful and expensive 🙄.
