Someone's POV
I was snapped out from my thoughts when i felt a sudden vibration in my left pocket. I slowed down the truck that I'm driving and parked it outside the line of this zigzag road then checked my phone.
Its her again. I thought to myself then answered immediately with a cheerful tone
"What's up chief? Long time no talk"
I heard first a closing door followed by a sweet chuckle of a woman.
"Still used to that nickname, huh? That's quite some time" she replied probably feeling nostalgic
"Truly brings back memories, isn't?"
I retorted.
"Yes it does, by the way are you free this afternoon?" She asked out of the blue. I didn't see that coming so it took me some time to reply.
"Woah! Our captian is now asking me on a date- didn't see that coming," i said honestly
"Yup! It is a date so better wear your fanciest tuxedo with seductive guns and bullets beneath your coat. We're gonna hunt love birds"
That was the longest line i've heard today. She was probably smirking right now while imagining her killing spree evening.
She's still the same as before- bubbly yet intruiging; but her carelessness always leads to tragedy. If only she did listen to my warning, she alone wouldn't have to take the burden of the battle's aftermath.
"Is that really your typical date, Chief? That quite made me sad, i thought i could already touch your golden hair" i replied dramatically which made her laugh out loudly.
"Oh! B7 you're making me cry out of joy,HAHAHHAHAHAAH" She really laugh it all out i could already imagine people watching her with furrowed eyebrows thinking she was crazy. I did not even told a joke for her to laugh that hard. Maybe she was just in the mood today so i let her be and waited her to stop.
" Remember our deal long ago?" She inquired still in between giggles and chuckles
"The winner in sparring will cut or dye the hair of the loser" i plainly stated and let out a sigh remembering those million times of me coloring and cutting my hair. "i remember everything chief" even the way your parents died
"Yeah boy! And i always win haha So, i'll see you later then?" She asked
"Count on me Chief!" I assured.
Guess this'll be an exciting night
