The morning passed by quite slowly for Kahn and Shana. They wrestled outside in the flowers for a while and chased song birds. When Shana caught one and sat down with it Kahn noticed the loving look on his face. The bird didn't try to twist or wriggle its way out of Shanas hand it just tweeted and looked at him with curious intent. Kahn just looked at it hungrily.
"Can we eat it?"
The bird tweeted and chirped in alarm and Shana growled at him, teeth bared and eyes narrowed. Kahn lowered his head instantly and whined slightly. Shana calmed down and gently uncurled his fingers from round the little songbird and it fluttered to his shoulder.
"Ignore that big brute. He doesn't have a clue what he's on about."
Shana smiled slightly as Kahn whimpered and patted his friends head.
"You're so evil to me!!"
Shana laughed hysterically at Kahns attempt of a gripe and the song bird fluttered off to a nearby holly tree.
"That's because I'm more dominant then you. You're my bitch."
On an average day Kahn wouldn't be roused by such a comment but for some reason today was different. Now ordinary dogs like to know where they are in the pack. They don't care even if they're right at the bottom of the pack just as long as they know that they're in it. But Shana and Kahn weren't ordinary dogs, not anymore. Such a situation hadn't come up in a while but Shana also liked the thought of a fight. Their eyes met each others and their shoulders collided as they heaved themselves at each other. Shana bit Kahns ear and laughed when he growled and attempted to shake him off.
"No buddy boy...I don't think so...!"
Shanas laughter was cut off as Kahn threw himself at the German Sheperd and they went tumbling across the garden.
Jinta chuckled watching them both roll around the garden and started crushing together a mix of white ivy, moon lily and spectre butterfly dust in her mortar. Jinta was one of the few witches who practiced only White Magicke. Her long hair was pure moon white and eyes the colour of citrine crystals. On her hands were delicate ivory pentagrams enchanted to bend with her fingers and palms. Once she had turned 18 they had been embedded into her skin as a mark of her purity to white magicke. When she had gotten them her hands had stung for 3 days afterwards until her mother found a salve that would work on the pain but not damage the ivory. Still to this day she got hand pains but not once did she regret them. Her head jolted up when she heard Shana yelp and she covered the slight smile that appeared on her lips. Kahn had mounted him, in true dog fashion to show that he was the most dominant. However now that they were both human, certain things that were natural to them as dogs...well...weren't going to be so natural now.
Shana slapped his hands on Kahns chest and gave an almighty shove sending the bewildered dog hurtling to a side and Shana sprinted inside and up to his room. Jinta bit her lower lip as she saw Kahns confused but hurt face and he wandered off to the willow shelter.
"Oh dear...looks like I've got some explaining to do."
Jinta placed the powder she had prepared into a glass vial and placed the stopper into it. First she'd deal with Shana. She didn't even reach the door of his room before she heard his terrified cry.
"Go away!"
Jinta gently opened the door and wasn't at all surprised when Shana kicked it closed. Snapping her fingers she heard a little bewildered bark and opened the door to be met with Shana in his puppy form. His big eyes met hers and Jinta picked him up holding him at arms length.
"Now, will you behave and let me talk to you in human form? Or do I have to baby you?"
Shana whimpered and licked Jintas hand in apology and the witch smiled. Setting him down under one of the covers she turned him back into his human form and wiped away his tears.
"Now I'm guessing when Kahn mounted you, you quite liked it."
Shanas cheeks flushed and he snuffled. He couldn't lift his eyes from the floor out of embarrassment. He had never felt like that before. It was a terrifying experience for him.
"Mm..."
Jinta smiled at his honest mumbled answer and stroked his hair gently. She had to admit that she favoured Shana a little over Kahn but they were still both her pups.
"As a human there are going to be certain things you'll find pleasurable that you didn't before and vice versa. Do you understand?"
Shana nodded shyly and played with a quilt corner.
"Come on now, get dressed and go make up with Kahn."
Shana whined slightly but pulled his trousers and pants to himself and got dressed once Jinta had left the room. He loved the witch dearly, she was his adoptive mother and he wouldn't do anything to harm her. At least not on purpose. Shuffling downstairs he kept his head down to try and avoid Jinta but she caught him and pressed a small package in his hands. It smelt of warm venison and mulled honey wine. Shana held it carefully and wandered into back garden over Kahns willow shelter. Kahn looked up at him with big brown eyes and moved over slightly. Shana gently wriggled beside him and passed him the package. Kahns stomach growled hungrily and he opened it. He half expected Shana to reach in and grab some but his friend just sat there looking at the venison hopefully. Kahn smiled and broke it in half, offering the bigger part to Shana but Shana refused and took the smaller chunk. Kahn appreciated Shanas attempt at an apology and they both ate in silence.
He could see the German Sheperds eyelids drooping after he'd eaten his fill and Kahn pulled the quilts over their lower bodies. A good meal certainly did put them in the right mood to take a nap for the afternoon. Shana rested his head against Kahns broad shoulder and slid a hand into his just so he'd know he was there whilst he was asleep too.
