Shana lay awake at night, his ears picking up on how quiet it was. He slid out of bed shivering as the cold air hit his skin. Stepping out his room he listened quietly and located were Kahn was. He knew he was with the boy but he just couldn't cope with the silence. Knocking on the door quietly he picked up Kahns soft mumble to enter.

He watched as Kahn looked at him and couldn't help but feel butterflies flutter in his stomach. Now that it was calm Shana could see how handsome Kahn was. The mans hair had grown from its short crop to long waves of multiple sumptous browns. His eyes were soft with the inner glow that could only come from love.

"I can't sleep. It's too quiet..."

Shana shifted uncomfortably and dropped his gaze to the floor. He didn't even realize that Kahn had moved until the man patted his shoulder. His hands flew up to protect himself, eyes screwing shut. Kahn stepped back surprised, his lips parted slightly in shock.

"Shana...?"

Gently taking the young mans hands into his Kahn looked at Shana sadly. Even when he had been younger and had a much more explosive attitude Shana had never cowered from him. He'd always battered him back.

"I don't think Joey will mind if you sleep in here tonight. Let's sort something out for you."

Letting go of him Kahn pulled some quilts from off Joeys wardrobe and put them on the floor with an assortment of pillows. He knew that Shana liked to sleep surrounded by fabrics that he could easily kick off if he got too hot or pull them over himself if he got too cold. Looking up he smiled as Shana knelt down and shuffled along the quilts. Taking notice of his friends hands Kahn gently stroked the ivory pentagrams. He never thought that Shana had the patience to learn how to cast spells and the like. But he smiled as he remembered just how hardheaded the young man could be.

"Why did you flinch from me?"

Shana looked up at him and pulled a quilt over himself. He felt ashamed about it. Kahn would never lay a hand upon him like Myriam had. However the motions and gestures of anyones hands made Shana uneasy. Pulling the quilts up around his face, the young man closed his eyes.

"...he hit me alot...so I don't like people moving their hands quickly near me..."

Kahn gently stroked Shanas hair and watched the boy as he pulled up his knees to his chest. He couldn't believe that anyone could lay a hand on Shana apart from their owners before Jinta. Thinking of his adopted mother Kahn realised that Shana didn't have his beloved choker. Even without asking, Kahn knew that the bronze skinned sorceror who had flung the young boy over the balcony at the party was the one who had taken it. Leaning down Kahn gently kissed Shanas cheek and he tucked the boy in properly. It felt natural for him to treat his friend in such a way.

"Gute Nacht Shana."

Shana blushed slightly as his friend spoke to him in German and mumbled the same back to him. He watched as his friend was very careful getting into his lovers bed as not to wake the sleeping boy. He could make out the soft outline of Kahns back in the moonlight. Burying into his cocoon of quilts Shana blushed as he realised that Kahn had draped his jumper over him. So he decided to snuggle into it and breathe in such a beloved scent.
