"Choi Beomgyu, the Queen has called for you."

He chuckled at the abrupt mention of his name from the other side of his chamber's door, almost forgetting that he even had a name to be called with.

"Tell her I'm not leaving my chamber. This is my home," Beomgyu said in a satirical tone, a grin plastering his face as he cleaned the wound on his hip.

"This is an important matter, Choi Beomgyu. The people from the Island of Elvgolsle are paying a visit. You have to come, all according to the Queen's instructions," the man he barely knows said with finality, Beomgyu scoffing as a sign of defeat.

"They have to make me show up so the elves don't discover that a Prince is locked away and tortured merely because he is wingless, hm? Pathetic fucks," The man standing outside the steel door growled and smashed the door down, crashing into his chamber and harshly pulling Beomgyu up from his collar.

The latter did not respond nor flinch from pain as he was adopted to being shoved around like this. It was an everyday routine for him now and if it doesn't occur at least once a day, it would be odd. "You are going to the welcoming party whether you like it or not. The Queen ordered you to," The man gritted his teeth, setting free Beomgyu's ankle from being tied onto a metal latch.

The Island of Elvgolsle where the elves are settled is approximately a hundred miles away from the island fairies. It would take 33 hours, 167 nautical miles per hour, traveling by sea to get from point A to point B.

So, for the elves to come here means they have a more important business to discuss and not just a welcome party.

His eyes shut from the luminous and elegant lights he was met. Beomgyu was more used to the gloom and the small rays from the window in his chamber instead of grand chandeliers and the sunlight. It took him five good minutes before he found himself inside the Throne Room of the Queen, his so-called mother.

Beomgyu was harshly nudged down from being dragged forcefully. Patting the dirt from his skin, his mother tittered at him with no pity.

"I haven't seen you in so long, my chagrin."

He clenched his fists as looked up to stare at the Queen, seeing her red fairy wings move so gloriously behind her back. Beomgyu gulped. It has been so long since he'd seen the wings of a his mother. He remembers how he used to adore her.

The Queen was wearing long fleeces of yellow fur flowing over her shoulders and tucked above her brows with combs of gold. A mantle of green cloth, inlaid with wildflowers, reached to her middle. Magenta pantaloons buttoned with bobs of silk, and sandals of silver, formed her underdress.

While Beomgyu was here, wearing an appalling, torn, foot-long stained white dress.

"I can tell you have turned away from taking care of yourself. We give you everything you will need yet you look like that? You look dreadful," she complained, earning a laugh from Beomgyu.

"If I seem so unpleasant, you should have never called for me in the first place. I'm sure the elves would not have such interest if I don't show up. Just tell them I'm on a journey outside of the island and I can't go," The boy declared as the Queen gazed down at him, not entertaining his indication. She clicked her tongue in a way that managed to irritate Beomgyu.

"You look so different now, Beomgyu. The last I've talked to you was when you pleaded me not to lock you in the dungeon," she chuckled devilishly.

Beomgyu knew that his mother was once kind, sympathetic, and full of love. However, her magic tarnished her to become cruel. It ached his heart to see how much his mother has changed since the last time he has seen her.
