Taehyun spent hours and days preparing himself and his soldiers for the war that is commencing in two weeks. They've got little to no time left to make sure everything's in place and that no error shall occur.

He went on with the training camp and the wizardry in the village. The potions to be made as bombs are almost ready, and the spells have now been cast upon each weapon.

"I didn't know you knew that much about magic?"

He heard a voice inside the drawing room he was in. After a long day, he wanted to at least take a break and have a nap. but he couldn't. There was too much going on that even taking a nap would seem insensitive.

"I should... It's one of the only ways I could make up for the loss of my... Wings," Taehyun smiled within his lips, the last word sounding little. He looked back at Beomgyu once before he went back to arranging the books on his shelf.

The other stood by the door, fidgeting his fingers as he was hesitant to ask the general about something. Should he even try to change his mind about the war? It shouldn't happen... Because things could either go their way or the other.

Beomgyu stayed still to watch Taehyun for a minute, "Are you sure about this?"

The general froze, a book in the grip of his hands. Beomgyu heard no response as Taehyun went back to occupy himself with arranging the drawing room.

"Is there no other way to discuss this with the Queen of Hearth? I'm afraid that continuing with the preparations and partaking in the war would cause us dire consequences." Beomgyu mentioned, staring at the general who was now seated on his chair, looking somewhere far away.

"You shouldn't bother yourself with this, Beomgyu."

Should he not? Beomgyu knew that the Hearths are cruel and this war cannot be thwarted, but he is nonetheless involved.

"What matters, for now, is that you're safe and you could continue to live here." Taehyun said monotonously, slowly gazing his eyes down to Beomgyu.

Though he was not satisfied with the answer he received from Taehyun, Beomgyu isn't sure that he had that much of an option but to take the response as it is.

"She left me no choice. She was going to take you, and I know how dangerous it is for you to go."

Beomgyu brought his head down and nodded, "I just don't want us to regret this decision later." he utters loud and clear. "Because once we do this, and you find out something that would cause you vast pain, you can't back out by then."

What did he mean, Taehyun thought?

Beomgyu inched closer to the door, ready to leave, while his eyes were still at the general. Taehyun looked troubled like his head had so much going on.

"You were almost good as dead back in the Hearth... And I cannot imagine how you would have died right there, with no one to help you." Taehyun spoke to him, but his eyes weren't even glancing at Beomgyu.

"When I found out, I didn't know what to do. I was worried sick," It was as if the general had lost the immense formality he held on to as he stared at Beomgyu, with his eyes watering.

"Do you know how much pain it gave me when I lost my mother?" Taehyun couldn't keep pretending that he was okay. That he's always so sure about everything he chooses to do. "I wasn't able to do anything to avenge her death that they caused. It hurt because I just had to accept it..."

Taehyun gulped down his throat, "So when I heard about what happened to you, I knew I had to do something." He said with his voice breaking and tears prickling his eyes yet none had fallen. "I care about you, more than I could comprehend, so I know that I can't just sit here and watch things go the way they want to."
