When he entered the office, Taehyun's intense gaze immediately plastered on him. It scared him if he wasn't lying. "Why did you call for me..?" Beomgyu asked, his voice shaking as the beating of his heart scampered out of fear.
Were they backing out of the 'training' deal and punish him instead?
The General puffed the smoke out of his mouth, holding the cigarette in his right and a pen he was playing with on his left. "Are you leaving tonight?"
Taehyun asked, sucking his cigarette in and blowing the smoke out of his nose. He looks intimidating in this state.
"Yes... That is what I intend to do," Beomgyu answered, gulping as this was the first time he's smelled the scent of a cigarettes again after leaving the Hearths as the guards guarding his chamber always had cigars on their hands as they talked. They made it seem fun.
"Where are you going once you leave and how are you sure it is safe for you to do so? Your wounds have just healed after being out in the magical forest for long and you're going back?" The General asked that made Beomgyu's soul uneasy.
"Yes."
Taehyun clicked his tongue once and stood up from the swiveling chair, walking to the front of his desk, sitting on its edge as he placed his left hand inside one of his pockets. "If you're leaving tonight without the Queen's knowledge, how are you sure she wouldn't know?"
"I don't know, General. My priority is getting out of this island and live the way I want to," Beomgyu retorts calmly.
"How about this..." Beomgyu gulped at how Taehyun started his clause. "You help me out with something and I will help you leave, fund you with everything you will need to flee." The General proposed. Beomgyu raised his brows at that, hearing about how Taehyun will help him with everything he'll need.
Again, it sounded too good to be true.
"I don't know. What if you just let me leave now so I can be free out of this kingdom and this island?" Beomgyu thought out, Taehyun not responding.
"I really need help from you," The General insisted with his eyes trying to communicate that confused the Prince. What is going on?
"You have to know you're making me feel skeptical," Beomgyu asserts and crosses his arms. "What help do you need and how am I sure I would not harm myself from it?" Were they gonna investigate him for overstepping the borders? What if the Queen changed her mind?
"This is all so sudden, but... Is there anything going on back in your kingdom?"
Beomgyu freezes out of surprise. Why was Taehyun suddenly asking about his kingdom and why did he look desperate? Was something wrong back home? "Uh... Is there something I should know..?"
The general sighs and stays silent before he tried to let another word slip out of his lips. "Did you notice anything different around your family? Are they hiding something that could ruin their names?" Taehyun stood there intently, waiting for an answer to help him solve an assumption he's creating inside his head.
"Me."
"No."
"How about around the territory of your kingdom, are they doing anything suspicious?" Taehyun asks again that Beomgyu denies.
"Can you get to the point?" The Prince says hesitantly as he was scared to say and act anything for now. He couldn't trust anyone else but himself. What if the general had ganged up with his family and catch him to his demise? That was not so far from impossible.
Taehyun walks to his desk and looks at Beomgyu eagerly before he pulled a paper from under the table. A piece of paper with an image of... Someone.
"Do you know him?"
