The sound of the wind singing melodies in the morning made Beomgyu feel serenity. It's been long since he was able to appreciate the day and look up at the skies with his heart full of hope.
"Beomgyu!"
"Beomgyu?"
"Beomgyu!"He laughs to himself.
Beomgyu's been hearing his name being called for the past 20 minutes by a certain someone. Although he hears it, he decided not to move an inch and listen to Taehyun's voice as Beomgyu's heart ached, pulling strings that just hit the spot.
The quiet is something Beomgyu treasured. Back at home, if it wasn't quiet, it was his suffering about to transpire. The blood he spits, the wounds he earned like badges, the words that stab him mercilessly... The quiet is something he labels as "love and affection". Anything other than that? Is chaos.
"Beomgyu,"
A voice came behind him that was followed by weary pants. Has he been running? Beomgyu wanted to chuckle as he found this ridiculous. Is the world playing with him?
"Mm?" Beomgyu utters, not opening his mouth even a little.
"H-how have you been?" Taehyun asks hesitantly, yet he still asked because his efforts to find where Beomgyu was surely tired him out. He tried catching his breath, bending down with his hands leaning on his thighs. If he was being honest, Taehyun doesn't really know why he looked for Beomgyu all over the estate... He just wanted to see if he's okay.
"Fine." Beomgyu replies dryly.
"Is something wrong?" The general sits three-or-so meters away from Beomgyu, pulling his knees close to his chest as he did. His heart was still panting from all the running he's done as sweat beaded his skin. Then, Taehyun looked at Beomgyu with eyes filled with worry as the latter gazed at the sky.
Beomgyu puts a small smile on his face as his eyes stayed staring at the golden skies while the breeze caressed him gently. "Everything's wrong," He whispers.
Taehyun froze. What was he supposed to say next? Afraid he might say something that could offend Beomgyu's end, Taehyun decided to stay silent, wait, and listen if the other was to say anything. He can't afford to hurt Beomgyu.
"I feel tired of everything, General," Beomgyu mutters softly and silently, his voice about to break. "Ever since I was a child, I've been waking up just to... To die." The tears that unknowingly traced down his cheeks had stained him. He tries, hard, to let his tears burst from time to time to not let them pent up, but why does it keep growing?
"They... Hurt me. With their words... With their hands... With their desires to wound me..." Beomgyu's vision blurred and his head was spinning. How much more does he have to suffer? How much longer does he have to stay?
Taehyun stilled. Did he hear it right? "Who... Who hurt you?"
Beomgyu scoffed in silence. "Everyone... Everyone hurt me." He replied, "...and I'm afraid you too."
The general's heart had stopped beating as his face turned pale. What did Beomgyu mean? Did he do or say something wrong? "You think I don't know what you're doing right now, Taehyun?"
Taehyun's heart unexpectedly felt like beating out of his chest and blood quickly dashed his system. This was the first time hearing Beomgyu say his name... And he doesn't know what his heart is suddenly doing. "W-what am I doing?"
"I know you know what happened a night ago, and I'm ashamed you had to see me at my weakest state," Beomgyu looks Taehyun in the eye with tears blurring him. "You're suddenly... Acting nice to me, General. You're suddenly worried about me and where I am... But you don't have to do that, you know?" The Prince says that confused Taehyun. Yes, he wasn't exactly that nice towards Beomgyu the first time they met, but he doesn't understand what Beomgyu is trying to say.
