Darkness enveloped Taehyun as he regained consciousness, his senses slowly returning to him. The cold, damp air clung to his skin, and the stench of his blood filled his nostrils. Disoriented and weak, he tried to make sense of his surroundings.
But before he could gather his thoughts, a chilling voice cut through the silence, echoing with malevolence and sadistic pleasure. "Do you know where you are right now?" The words dripped like it contained venom, and Taehyun's heart sank as he recognized the voice of the Quern. The same Queen who had directed the torment of her own child and his beloved Beomgyu.
He remained silent, unwilling to give her the satisfaction of a reaction. Her taunts continued, each word slicing through his stance like a dagger. "This is where my chagrin lived his life. This piece of shit is where he dwelled." Her voice was laced with a sickening amusement, drowning in the misery she had inflicted.
Defiance ignited within Taehyun's eyes as he attempted to break free from the confines of the metal latches that bound him. Seeing him struggle made out a clamorous laughter from the Queen. The desire to fight back scorched in his veins, his rebellion itching to take flight.
The Queen placed her hands to caress his jaw, "Get your fucking hands off me!" he screamed, his anger boiling over, a fierce determination coursing through his veins. But his struggles proved useless as the Queen's guards tightened their grip, holding him imprisoned, taunting him with their power.
Inching closer, the Queen's eyes glinted with sadistic pleasure, relishing in the power she held over him. "Would you like me to spare your life, hm?" she whispered, her voice filled with twisted delight. But Taehyun remained silent, refusing to succumb to her manipulations. He knew deep within his heart that giving in would mean betraying everything he held dear.
Her demands grew desperate as she unleashed her wrath upon him, subjecting him to the same torment that Beomgyu had endured. Each strike, each blow, was meant to break him, to shatter his spirit, and extinguish the flames of his resilience. The coffin, the nails, the attempt to drown him—He doesn't know how much longer he could last.
Days turned into weeks, the passage of time marked by the agony that coursed through Taehyun's body: The raw wounds and the gashed skin. Yet, amidst the pain and suffering, his spirit remained undamaged. The love he carried within his heart for Beomgyu fueled his determination, allowing him to endure the cruelest of afflictions.
In the depths of the dungeon, where light struggled to penetrate through the small window and the overbearing darkness, Taehyun found solace in his own thoughts. The cold stone floor became his companion, and the flickering torches cast dancing shadows on the walls, whispering stories of strength and hope.
It was during one of these moments, when despair threatened to consume him, then he heard footsteps approaching. The sound echoed through the corridor, growing louder with each passing second. Taehyun's heart quickened, his senses on high alert as he huddled further into the corner, his eyes darting anxiously around the dimly lit chamber.
The heavy iron door swung open, and the malevolent figure of the queen materialized in the doorway. Her once-beautiful face was distorted with a wicked grin, her eyes gleaming with a vicious light. She stepped into the cell, her every movement exuding an aura of darkness.
"Well, well, if it isn't my little prisoner," the Queen sneered, "Still hoping for a way out, are we?"
Taehyun's heart pounded in his chest, the weight of his situation pressing upon him. But he refused to show fear, to give the queen the satisfaction she craved. For he knew that For he knew that in the face of darkness, resilience was his greatest weapon. He met the queen's gaze with unwavering defiance, his eyes shining with a glimmer of untamed determination.
