Alex and George
Alex and George's Flat"Honey, I'm ho-ome~!"
Alex skipped in through the door of the flat like a dog on a summer's day running through a sunflower field chasing the light.
Except it was winter, a Wednesday and the 9th of December. And he was in fact a human - who had just finished a court hearing for his ex not-really-girlfriend's arson sentence. There was no reason for him to be this happy, excitable or energetic.
Maybe being stuck inside those 4 white walls made Alex's crazy build up inside of him - ready to ignite and explode the minute he got out of that echoey chamber of boring technical terms and staged polite bureaucracies. Like mentos in a coke bottle.
Full speed ahead, he skipped all the way like that into George's room, dived onto his opponent and pushed him off his gaming chair onto the floor, smothering his face and neck with kisses.
"I'm back! I'm back! Didn't you miss me?"
"Ew, Alex!" George grimaced whilst sitting up, pretending to wipe the kisses off his skin. "NEVER do that again - or I will end you."
"What? Never go to court and be a witness again?" Laying himself leisurely across George's lap, he completely ignored the man's warnings.
"No, you know what I mean Alex - get OFF ME! Christ!" With only a little force George pushed Alex pretty easily rolling onto the grey carpet.
"Yeah, I fucking hope not. Never again in my life will you get me in a court. Dead or alive. Even if they arrest me, I'll take the fast lane, nyaaaon," Alex made a very accurate car impression, "and just go straight to prison, no passing go or collecting £200. At least you get a TV and food in there.
"Thought it was gonna be all sad and stressful. But NO. It was just soooo boring - oh my god. Nearly fell asleep about three times until they called my name, like this," Alex put a finger above his lips, mimicking a moustache and did a snooty posh accent impression, "Alexander Elmslie!" then buckled in to laugh at his own joke.
As if he didn't find it funny in the slightest, George ignored the whole charade and simply nodded.
"Aaa my 'ead 'urts..." Alex whined, rubbing his eyes ferociously.
"Are you saying you wanted it to be sad and stressful? You sound a little disappointed." Fed up of sitting on the floor, George got up and Alex followed him into the kitchen like a lost puppy.
"Oh, I am! I am very disappointed."
"You scheming little rat!"
"Rat? Yeah I'll take it," Alex smirked. "I'm a cute rat though."
"Hmm..."
Already getting hash browns out the freezer drawer, George pretended not to notice Alex doing his best rat impression.

Callie
London Central County Court"We are gathered here today at the magistrate's court - for the first court hearing on the incident that occurred on Saturday 21st November at 23 Carlton Avenue, Kings Cross, London. Callie Rose is under arrest for arson with culpability B - meaning she was reckless as to whether life was endangered."
These white walls, white ceilings. Everything was deathly and cold. People had probably died in here. This morning I didn't even bother with my makeup. Maybe this was the first time Alex had ever seen my raw honest face: My freckles scattered across my slightly long button nose and the small scar beneath my left eye. He wasn't even looking at me.
