Alex and George
Alex and George's Flat"Saying my girlfriend cheated on me was rather presumptuous of you, George! She wasn't even my girlfriend anyway," Alex shook his head. Barely having finished his last helping, he got swiftly to pouring more wine slosh slosh slosh into his glass. The breeze on the balcony felt good. Even if it was freezing out here.
"Oo~ that's a big word. Preh-zump-tchuous," George giggled sounding it out. Not taking this so seriously after a whole bottle of champagne and half a bottle of wine. "Anyway, I'm right!" George said with confidence, smushing his side into his best mate. "Aren't I right?"
"No."
"I'm always right!"
"Yeah, usually you are," Alex stared sideways into George's huge crystal blue eyes, "I'll give you that. But not this time. To be fair, none of us saw it coming. But man, I was the most stupid."
"Stupid? What did she do?" Leaning over the balcony railing and staring out at the twilight skyline, George posed the question. Nightfall was throwing a deep blue and orange haze over everything, and George savoured the sight. Unknowing.
"You know the fire that happened? The night we met her?" Precariously, Alex swirled the wine around in his glass a bit, dangling it over 50ft above the trees lining the street below.
"Yeah?"
"She did that."
"She WHAT NOW?" George span around to face Alex, almost smashing his wine glass on the way.
"Yeah. Callie. Callie fucking I'm so sweet Rose-" Alex put on a whiny voice, "started that fire. On purpose. Could've killed us all." Stone cold and fixated on the glowing lights of apartment buildings in the distance, the toffee-brown haired man didn't flinch.
"Wow, Alex. I- I don't know what to say... I know we do some dodgy things but..." Awkwardly, George stood there - halfway between offering a hug and bending down to get more wine.
"Don't." Alex's words froze George in place. "Don't waste your breath on that trash. Fuck," the broken shell of the Gucci adorned 21 year old drew in a long cold breath of air, then let it out aggressively, "wasted enough on her already."
"Woah, that's actually really shocked me. Umm... I- I'm sorry. I don't know what I expected but... it wasn't this. Alex - are you alright?"
"NO! No, George. I'm not alright. Am I? Look at me! LOOK at me! The person I loved turned out to be a criminal who could have killed all my friends!"
"And you!"
"Yeah, and me. Maybe that would've been a good thing though," with a deviant smirk, Alex glugged back the remaining blood-red liquid in his glass.
"Don't," George said with some force, then added more gently, a plea, "Don't say that, Alex."
Smash.

Turning the letter over, as if that would make this whole situation disappear I felt my stomach wrenching itself into knots. Vomit was making its way into my throat.
"Dinner's ready!" shrill and in her semi-American accent my mum's voice rung through, breaking my frozen-in-fear reality.
Where was I? Who was I? Everything had been wiped clean, it was like someone had pressed reset and all of my checkpoints and items had disappeared. Everything I'd worked for, everything that mattered to me... In an instant, gone.

Alex and George
Alex and George's FlatCurled up on the huge double bed, an opened slightly tatty Lego box on the far left corner, Alex's small body lay tucked inside George's. Offering him protection and warmth, the bulkier but one inch shorter of the two had his arms wrapped around Alex. They were fast asleep, both of their bodies rising and falling in sync with each other. One black hoodie, one red. Wine bottles, the empty champagne with its gold foil still intact and about 15 hollow cans of beer and cider made a nice shiny garden of the bedroom floor.
