​"The fuck? There's a fire! Over there!" Alex rubbed his forehead and looked over at James who shook his head, getting up off the couch and George soon followed. Before I knew it, the three boys were pushing their way fast out of the room. RIP to the pizza.

Then it happened.

Alex bumped against me and my drink spilled all down my new top. It was cold and somewhat refreshing.

He span around and lightly touched my arm, "I am so, so sorry," he said looking genuinely concerned. Whether it was about the fire or me, I wasn't sure - and I didn't really care. He just spoke to me and it was because of the fire. I knew it. I knew I did a bad thing but why did it feel so good in this moment?

"Everyone, emergency exit please!" the bouncers yelled out in their boom-y voices and we were all redirected round the side of the building.

​I began running and I wasn't far behind Alex. I could keep my eyes on his black hoodie easily, now I knew that was him.

Once we were out the door, I saw him look back - and for a second our eyes locked again. I couldn't believe he even cared enough to check for me.

For all he knew, I was some random girl. Most likely, he didn't know it was me. The girl who he messaged yesterday about Lil Peep. And he definitely didn't know it was me who caused the fire.

The smell of smoke carried out onto the street and I began to cough from the mixture of it - and the vodka. That damn vodka.

​"Are you okay?" Alex asked coming towards me.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," I tried to subdue my smile but at the same time show my honest appreciation for him worrying about me.

His blue-green eyes closed slowly in relief and his eyelids glistened under the cool night air and streetlights. I had to stop staring...

"Callie!" An icy hand with long nails grabbed my arm, "There you are!" It was Nadia. I was so relieved to be reunited with her but then also scared Alex would leave me now I had someone to look after me. He almost did, but then...
