*Laura's POV*

*Friday 5 pm*

In a couple of hours, I will see her again. I swore to myself, not to be in a negative mood when I meet her again. It's like Aurora said, I don't even know if it was really hers. So, I put positive thoughts on my mind and got ready for tonight. A couple of minutes later Sam arrived, to pick me up. Sam and I were friends since college, we had the same major. And now he works for an online sports magazine. He's an amazing guy. I love him. One night in college we made out, but immediately know, there more friendship than romantic feelings between us. But we made a deal. When we are both 40 and still single, we marry each other and have children together. Maybe a dumb idea, but so neither of us will die alone.

He rang the doorbell and I picked up my handbag with my keys, my phone and got down. He parked in front of my apartment. When I got out of the building he pointed at his clock and looked a bit angry at me. " Chill down Sam, I'm here and we're still in time. No worries, we're not going to miss her concert!" - " I am cool! And especially cool for the summer if you know what I mean. Hahaha" he laughed and gave me a little poke in the side. " No, I don't really know, what you mean by that ..." - "Oh come on LJ, I thought you like her. But you don't even know one of her biggest hits. Cool for the summer." - " I said I like her and that she has an amazing voice, but I do not know all her songs. And if you want to fangirl over her, wait till we get to the concert and meet up with Auri and Rose. I'm sure, she will love to do that with you!"

Rose and Auri were waiting for us in front of the Barclays Center. It wasn't that easy to find them, because of all the people. We hugged each other and queued up behind a long row. After we entered the entrance, we bought something to drink. Based on our wristbands, I saw she gave us VIP tickets, again. We searched for our places. Not as good, as last time, but still with a good view on the stage. And there she was. Standing there, with a breathtaking outfit. The whole crowd screamed, and she began to sing. At that moment I was like she put me into a trance. When she sang, I could literally feel the pain she was singing about. I felt it deep in my heart. Her voice made my heart beat faster. All around me were dancing, singing along, and hyped as hell. And I was just standing there and staring at her. I must have looked like a complete idiot. She sang one song after the other. Today, she had a big crowd of background dancers with her on the stage. There was so much energy going on. But the longer I listened, I noticed there was something different. Different than it was at her last concert in LA. But I couldn't really say what it was. But the more songs I listened to, the more she fascinated me. Between some songs, she did small speeches and talk about the process of making the album. And there I got it, what was different. When she spoke, she spoke with a speed, which I didn't know from her. She couldn't really stand a second still. She was always were walking around, or there was always something like handshaking, or wiggling with her foot. That was odd. The last time I saw her, she was a calm person, who doesn't have tickets like that. Maybe it was her nervousness on the stage, but she is already so long in that business, is someone like her still nervous on stage? Well, what do I know, I have met her only twice? She sang her last song, which brought her standing ovation in, and left the stage with her dancers.

We waited for a bit before we left our places, so we could leave the hall without the crowd. We searched for the backstage area, which was a bit difficult to find. I asked a security guy: "Hey, I got an Email from Jordan Jackson, that I should come here after the concert!" He said something into his headset and nodded after he got some response. He left us through the barrier and explained where we must go. On our way through the backstage area, Auri hooked her arm under mine and said: " So LJ, are you nervous about meeting her again?"- "Me? Nervous? I think you're talking about you and Sam! You are the ones, who are nervous meeting her!" – " Okay, true! If we're meeting her!" – "Well Jordan, wrote I can bring you guys too, so I guess you will meet her as well." I saw Jordan and she welcomed us. She told us: " You have to wait for a few minutes before Demi is ready for ya. Just wait across from her dressing room. She will come out when she is ready!" We all nodded and she rushed away. There was a small waiting area with some chairs and sofas. We sat down. Everyone who passed us seemed very busy. We sat there for 10 minutes. Then some guy opened her door and went in. And there she was, sitting there, still in her stage outfit. But what was she doing? It hit real hard, when I saw her, she was sniffing something from the table. Even if I saw her just for some seconds when the dude opened and closed the door. I saw enough. I said to my friends: "Guys let's go! I've changed my mind!" I stood up and just stared at my surprised friends. "Laura, what happened? I thought you would...", Sam said in a puzzled voice. "Please guys, let's go!" I begged. "Just say what happened Laura!", Aurora asked again. "Not yet, please. I have to get out of her. Now!" – "You heard her, so let's go! I mean you both! Huhu Sam, Aurora I talk with you!", Rose said in a harsh tone. Both stood up as well, and we left. Back in the car, everyone waited for me to say something. "Can you please drive me home!" – "Yeah sure, but can you tell us, why we have to leave so fast?" – "Well, it was simply a bad idea to come to her concert. Oh, and Aurora, it was her cocaine in her car. I'm sure about that now!" – "I'm sorry, honey! You know, I always see only the good in people!" – "Auri, it's not your fault! But please let's forget about her!" The whole drive to my apartment was in silence. Sam let me out in front of the building. I said goodbye to all of them and went upstairs. I just removed my make-up, turned my phone off, and jumped into bed. How dumb was I to believe that she was sober anymore? But why am I getting worked up about it? That's none of my business. We're not even friends. So why I am so upset about that ...

*Demi's POV*

What should I say? The concert was great. Such a dope crowd. But otherwise, it's all been a mess. Since I doing drugs again, everything was messed up. I could hide it from most of the people near me. The only ones, who know about it, are Max my security guard, and Jordan. I had a deal with both. I can consume it in moderation till the end of the month, for now, my last concert. Then I go to rehab again. Since that night of my relapse, most of the time, when I don't do things for work, I sleep the whole time. I wanted to write Laura again, but I couldn't, if I would have answered her messages I couldn't have the concentration long enough to talk to her or have a proper conversation, so I thought that I should leaf it like that. But when I went to New York, I instruct Jordan to get in contact with her and invite her to the concert plus to meet me afterward. When I got back from the stage I had to lie down for a few minutes. Before I meet her again, I wanted to act normal or not at least don't wanted to be on a Down. So I placed a line on my table and sniffed it into my nose. At that moment Max came in, "Oh fuck Demi, why do you have to do that. I am worried about you. You're like a daughter to me." – "Max, you know I will stop, but I can't right now. I'm right away to meet up with that girl from the TIME. But I will stop. I promise. And you know I mean it when I say that!" - " I get that Demi, but please be careful with that. I don't want to visit you in the hospital again or even at the cemetery! Do you get that?!" – "Yes, Max. I do. I don't want that either." – " Okay, good for you. And when you mean a blond girl, she is already waiting outside with three others." – " Oh okay, then I need to hurry up!" I slipped into some sweatpants and a hoodie and went outside. But there was no one. No, Laura. No other guys. "Max, are you kidding me? There is no one out there!" – " No, when I came in, there was a blond girl, who looked a bit nervous, with two other girls and a boy sitting on the chairs." – "Well now, no one is out there!" I was confused. Where did she go? I asked Jordan if she had seen her. But she said the exact same thing as Max. I pulled my phone out, searched her number, and tried to call her, but no one picked up. What happened? I thought it was a good sign that she came to the concert and wanted to see me again. Maybe something bad happened? By that, I got a bit dizzy so I had to sit down. But where fuck did, she goes? That was the only reason, why I was so hyped tonight at the concert. To see her again. ...
