*POV Laura*
To see her standing there singing with all the emotion coming out of their voice was just amazing. I had heard the song before, but still as she sang it live. I could hear the pain in her voice, but at the same time, there was this warmth. The longer I listened to her, the more goosebumps came over me.
'I'll take the pain
Give me the truth, me and my heart
We'll make it through
If happy is her, I'm happy for you.'
The lyrics brought tears to my eyes, and I quickly wiped them away. It was completely different than when I heard her sing at their concert or streamed her songs on Spotify. It was way more intense. Every note was just perfect. When she was done, she paused for a moment and said into the microphone: "I think that's it, Warren!" - "Demi, that was fantastic again. I'm going to quickly listen through all the tracks, so you don't have to come back here again. And then sent them straight to Warner Brothers!" - "Thanks Warren!" - "Oh yes and Demi... you have some visitors waiting for you here!" - Demi narrows her eyes and looks towards the window. Then she started smiling and waving. "You can tell them I'll be right over." - "Did you hear guys, she's right there with you, feel free to sit on the couches while you're there," said Warren, who I think was a bit overwhelmed with so many women in one room. We took a seat and after a few minutes Demi came over to us. "Well, you got here just in time, did you hear the last song?" Demi asked smiling. "Of course, honey. you were wonderful I'm sure the customer will be very happy!" said Dianna. "Thanks, mom! Yes, I hope so!", she replied and sat down next to me on the edge of the sofa. Auri sat there and still had tears in her eyes. "Are you okay Aurora?" Demi asked. Auri got up and hugged her. "Yes. With the song, you helped me through a very difficult time. And just hearing you sing brought all the emotions back. I'm so grateful to you for that!" - "It makes me so happy when I can help people with my music. So I have to thank you!" They broke the hug and smiled at each other. Warren cleared his throat and said, "So all 5 tracks are perfect now. Thank you for coming again. I don't know what was happening with the tapes on Friday or why no one listened to them again. But I'll send them off right now, then we'll have done that too and you can continue to enjoy your weekend before we meet again on Monday. Is Ariana coming too? Or was that just next week?" - "Good. Yes, exactly Ariana is coming on Monday, we have to re-record her feature, the vocals didn't really fit together." - "Okay, fantastic. Then I'll get everything ready on Monday morning! And now get out of here. You will hardly want to sit in a dark studio any longer on such a beautiful day!" - "Thank you. Yes, you are absolutely right, we should go so that we can have something from the day. So come on guys, let's go." We got up and walked out. Demi said goodbye to Warren and then followed us. She grabbed my hand and whispered in my ear, "Well, did you miss me?" - "I did at first, but then I got so distracted by all the Harry Potter stuff I didn't even think about you not being gone," I joked. "Oh, oh, that was it. Well, I missed you!" I grinned. "That just...was really stunning by the way. Your voice. I got goosebumps." - "Really?!" - "Yes of course. You have something in your voice that just enchants people." - "Hihi thanks!" She squeezed my hand a little harder to give more meaning to what she said. Back at the car we all got in and drove back to Demi's home. On the drive, we told her everything we had experienced while she was working in the studio. When we got there, we all went into the house and sat in the garden. It was getting late in the evening and Rose suggested cooking something delicious. Demi wanted to help her. So Dianna, Maddi, Auri, Jordan, and I stayed outside until Maddi got the idea to jump into the pool just before dinner and to cool off a bit. I quickly ran upstairs to my room, changed my clothes, and hurried back downstairs. Maddi and Auri had already changed and were already in the water. Dianna and Jordan were sitting on two sun loungers and chatting. I made a head into the water and splashed Maddi and Aurora with it. "Man LJ, you dork, did that have to be? Now my hair is completely wet.", Auri scolded. "Yeah, of course, it has to be. My hair is wet too." I laughed. We swam a few laps and splashed around a bit. Auri said goodbye to having a shower before dinner. Maddi and I stayed a little longer in the water. "So, you like her?" Maddi asked. "What did you mean?" I played dumb. Now came what Demi had warned me about in the morning. "Demi, of course!" - "Yes sure, we have become good friends in the last few months." - "Are you sure that there is nothing more than friendship between you two? I noticed when Demi talks about you, she always has such a sparkle in her eyes. She hasn't had that in a long time. And when she's with you, she seems a lot happier." - "Is that true?" - "Yes, you have to know, Demi has been through a lot in the last few years. Not just with all the drugs and stuff. No, she was also often in toxic relationships that the public never found out about. It ruined everything for her. And when she almost died about 2 years ago, that changed her completely. For our mom, it was a very hard time. She cried every day. We didn't think she would make it through and fight back into life as she did. And 4 months ago she relapsed again. Mom was completely down about it...." - "I'm sorry to hear that. The incident 4 months ago... we just had met each other, when I found out... and she promised to get me back into therapy." - "Oh, then it was you! She only told me someone had opened her eyes, but she didn't want to tell me who. Thank you for being there for her!" - "No problem." - "But you have to promise me one thing! Don't hurt her. If you have feelings for her too, don't make her wait too long and if she doesn't, tell her before she gets too involved. I just don't want her to get hurt again." - "I don't want that either. Demi is such a great person. I promise you."
Our conversation was interrupted by Rose, who came out of the house and informed us that the meal would be ready in 10 minutes. We got out of the pool and dried off. I scurried through the living room towards the stairs. I noticed how Demi looked at me in the Bikini and grinned seductively and I couldn't help but laugh. In the room, I quickly put something on and tried to rub my hair dry a little. Back in the dining room, I sat down next to Auri and across from Demi. "So I'm kind of flashing back now. Seeing you sitting next to me with your wet hair!" - "Haha, well! I know that you like the sight!" I grinned maliciously and stroked my wet hair. "You could be right!" She laughed and Rose served us steak with saffron risotto and green asparagus. We tried it all. It was excellent. "A big compliment to the two chefs! You did a good job!" Dianna said and we agreed with loud smacking noises.
