*POV Laura*

When I left the apartment and was back on the street, I had to take a deep breath. Rose was right. I need to get my feelings straight before I can say I just want to be friends with her. I know how I feel when we're together. Or when we're together, laughing or just talking. But as soon as I list the positive sides, the negative ones immediately come to mind. First of all, there is the matter of the drugs, then of course there is also the matter of the public. And also that I can't assess how serious Demi is. Whether she wants a permanent relationship or just a casual thing, as one hears from the media again and again. But to find out all that, I had to talk to her. I walked the blocks home. Three blocks from my home, my cell phone rang. Demi's profile picture appeared on the display and I accepted the call.

"Hey you, home already?" - "Hi, not yet, I'm on my way. And are landed safely back home?" - "Yeah, I just walked in the front door. And I thought I'd give you a quick call before you go to sleep. I just wanted to double-check how you're doing with all the covers. I hope you didn't run into any problems. " - "That's really nice of you, but I'm actually quite fine. The people at work didn't recognize me, thank God. But my best friend knew right away. She just made me out to the whole group at our dinner confronted with it..." - "Oh fuck! I hope it wasn't too bad. Hahaha!" - "LOL. Actually, there were only comments about whether we are together now... haha." - "They're no different than all the gossip magazines. Hahaha. And what did you answer?" - "Of course, we're not together! But Aurora, my best friend, knew immediately what happened between us. As if I told them about the kiss. I hope that doesn't bother you!" - "Well, your best friend seems to know you very well. No, it doesn't bother me at all. But I thought you wanted to forget the kiss." - "Yeah, I really wanted to, but at the moment I couldn't help but tell them about it. Sam and Aurora completely freaked out when they heard about the kiss. That actually kind of annoyed me. Only Rose, Sam's girlfriend, really helped me at that moment." - "Let me guess, those two were also at my concert in New York a few months ago. How did she help you?" - "Haha yes, they are both big fans of yours! Well, she gave me some very good and wise advice. I am very grateful to her for that, she opened my eyes a bit." - "Will you also share this wise advice with me?" - "Maybe one day, who knows! Haha." - "Oh okay, how nice of you. I'll get back to that sometimes. Hahaha." As we spoke, I arrived at my home.

*POV Demi*

"So Lauri, what are you doing today ?", I asked. "Oh, don't call me that! I hate the nickname. Only my parents call me like that. Haha. Oh, not much anymore. Just got home. I'm just going to get dressed in something comfortable and then go to bed. And how about you?", she said with a laugh.

When she said about dressing in something comfy, I was about to comment, but I immediately thought how weird that would be. I was so glad the kiss hadn't ruined our friendship until now. Even if I would like to repeat this kiss immediately and go even further, she doesn't seem to want that. In the storage room, I actually had the feeling that there were feelings from both sides. She had also returned the kiss. But it was probably just a slip and she's straight.

"Oh, so you don't like Lauri? I think he's really cute... but as you wish... how should I call you Mrs. Smith?" - "How about Laura?" - "But that sounds so formal. Like when we first met. What do your friends call you?" - "What, you think Laura is too formal? Hahaha. My parents chose the name so that nobody at school could give me a stupid nickname. But my closest friends call me LJ, Laura Jean. Well, if you want, you can call me that too." - "Okay, LJ sounds good. Then I'll have to update your contacts right away afterward. By the way, how did you save me?" - "Well, to be honest, I saved you under Demi + a microphone emoji. I've had that since I got your number. But maybe I should change that, it might be a bit too superficial xD." - "Oh really, don't you think? Oh, I think my name and a microphone actually describe me quite well. Well, at least I got the microphone," I said, laughing. "Haha, yes, you should always take what you can get ;)" - "Oh, are you getting a bit sassy now? I don't even know that side of you! Hahaha!" - "Believe it or not, I'm full of surprises!" - "I'm sure about you! ;)" - "What's that supposed to mean? Hahaha!" - "You've surprised me many times with what you do. You're really hard to read, LJ." - "I'm just not an open book. I need my time to open up to people. When it comes to trust or feelings, I'm really bad." When she said that, I noticed that she became a little more serious and it wasn't easy for her to admit it either.

"Laura, that's nothing to be ashamed of. It's ingrained in us humans not to trust everyone or open up to someone. It's just self-protection and I totally understand that. I wish I had that instinct sometimes too. I usually trust people way too quickly without thinking about it. And that has often backfired. It doesn't matter whether it's in professional life or with my exes or with my dealers, but that's a completely different story. What I do actually want to say is that you should always take as much time as you need." - "I know there are pros and cons to both sides, but sometimes it gets in my own way. And I'm really speaking from experience. Some of my previous relationships have broken up because of this. I just wanted you to know that and not think that it's you or so... I really like you, Demi, whenever we talk it feels like we've known each other forever. I've never had that feeling with anyone before. I wanted you to know that. Especially since I left you in such a strange situation." I really like you, Demi, whenever we talk it feels like we've known each other forever. I've never had that feeling with anyone before. I wanted you to know that. Especially since I left you in such a strange situation." - "LJ, I feel the same way. I think this could be one of the best friendships the world has ever seen. Thank you for telling me that, it means a lot to me." - "Don't let Sam and Auri hear that... otherwise they'll turn from your fans to your enemies... they can be really extreme in something like that ." -"Maybe I get along with them just as well as I do with you. Especially with them, I have a popularity bonus. I didn't have that with you." - "Yes, that could be good." - "You mean that you have a little free time now, right?" - "Yes, I still have to do a few small things at the home office, but otherwise I've got a few days off for now." - "That may sound like a crazy idea, but would you like to come to my place in LA this weekend and go to Universal Studios with me? There's a big Harry Potter event this weekend. And I wouldn't want to go there alone." I risked everything and just asked her. Who knows when else I'd see her again? LA and New York aren't exactly neighbors. I added, "And if you want, you are welcome to bring your friends. I've got enough free tickets!"

There was complete silence for a few seconds, but then she replied, "Yes, of course! I love Harry Potter. I can't pass up something like that." - "The chance of the Harry Potter event or seeing me again?" I asked, laughing. "Of course the Harry Potter event, silly! Hahaha no fun, of course, I can't miss both. But first I have to ask my friends if they have the time and inclination." - "I like your cheeky side. But that sounds good! In any case, I would be very happy to see you again and of course to meet your friends." - "Yeah, me too. I'll ask the three of them first thing in the morning. And then I'll let you know... You, I think I have to go to bed now, I'm really tired. The jetlag really fucked me up." - "Sounds amazing. I can totally hear how tired you are. Then I'll let you sleep now. I wish you a good night and sleep well. We'll talk again tomorrow." During our conversation, LJ yawned several times, actually, I could have talked for hours on the phone, but of course, I wanted her to get her sleep. "Good night to you too Demi and see you tomorrow!" She said and hangs up. I flopped down on my bed, still holding my phone, and couldn't stop grinning. This girl was driving me really crazy. Usually, if I didn't get what I wanted, I quickly lost it Interested in someone or something. But it's different with her. Of course, I would like to be more than a good friend of hers, but at the moment all I cared about was that I was with her or just close to her, whether that was physically Or just on the phone It was number one priority that she was in my life. Everything else didn't matter. Thinking about her and how the weekend was going to be I fell asleep.
