*POV Laura*

The whole flight back, I thought about what happened. I went over every second we spent in the storage room. The seconds before the kiss, during the kiss, and also the ones after. The tension between us was incredible. I don't think I've ever experienced anything like this. Not even with one of my ex-boyfriends. But was it just because we had such a good connection or was it more than that? If so, I didn't want to admit it, let and certainly not all admit it in front of Demi. We both flinched when Max opened the door, but somehow, I could see fear in her eyes. Was it because she was afraid of what Max would say? Or was it something else? Or was it rather the reflection of my fear in her eyes? I have to admit I was embarrassed when Max caught us together. But when the horde of fans ran towards them and the paparazzi flashed at us, I was rather scared. Firstly because of my work. Could I still be taken seriously as a professional journalist if I were to be seen holding hands with her in some trash magazine? On the other hand, probably because neither my friends nor my family have seen me with a woman. And I think both of them would totally freak out, for different reasons, but I wouldn't want to face them both.

After I arrived, I send a little message to Demi, "Hey, just landed safely in New York. Hope you're doing fine. I'm going to lie down and sleep for a bit now. This afternoon I have to be in the office... so I will be really busy. You probably had your interview already, I hope it went well. Have a nice day and a good flight back. Xo"

At 3 pm my alarm clock went on, so I stood up and got ready. I still was tired af, but I had to get to the office and got the meeting with my boss behind me. I walked down to the subway and drove a few stations to Manhattan. I bought some coffee at a kiosk a few streets before my office. While waiting for my coffee, I looked around for new magazines. Most of them were about the royal wedding too and of course Meghan Markel. It was here a big thing, too. When I looked closer, there were some gossip magazines with the headline "Is that her new girlfriend?" Under the headline, there was a pic of Demi from behind, holding my hand, when we were running off to the car at the museum. It hit me like a really big rock. What the fuck. My back was on the cover of these magazines. I grabbed one of these magazines and leafed through the article "Demi Lovato was spotted yesterday in London holding hands with a stranger in front of the Natural History Museum. When she was spotted at the royal wedding with Nick Jonas on Saturday after a long time, the Popstar probably made herself a nice day in one of the famous London museums. As insiders of the museum reported, the two were very intimate. One employee even reports that they disappeared together in a storage room. What do they probably do inside there? But probably we'll find out soon. Stay tuned." I was in shock. I searched for more pictures, fortunately, they only hit us from behind. The coffee guy ripped me out of my shock when he called my name. I grabbed my coffee and walked straight up to my office. Somehow, I expected that everybody in the office would talk about those articles and about me. But no, the only topics were my work in London and how we would cut the video with the whole material that Dylan already have shown to my boss and colleagues. Everyone greeted me warmly, but the subject of holding hands with Demi Lovato never came up. The meeting progressed slowly. We went through each day's footage and discussed what themes should make into the video. After 4 hours we were finally through. We agreed that Dylan would edit the video and I would record an o-tone and send it to him once he was done. I looked at my phone. I missed a call from Demi and a few texts from Auri and my mom. I checked my answering machine first. "Hey Laura, I just got your text and thought I'd give you a call before you go to work... but it seems you're already at work... I don't know if you've seen it but a few magazines printed us on the cover. My lawyer was able to prevent your face from being printed, but unfortunately, he couldn't do more. I hope this doesn't get you into trouble at work or anything. The subject was also brought up in my radio interview today. I skillfully ignored the questions about this. I'm going to the airport right now and we're flying back to LA. I'll text you when we've landed. Miss you already. Bye." I made a short voice message "Hey Demi, just checked your message. I'm done with work now. I'm going to meet my best friends for dinner soon. I've missed them a lot for the last three weeks. I hope you have a good flight. I'll hear from you when you get home. I miss you, too."

After I send it, I checked the ones from my mom, who just wanted to check, if I was back and healthy. I gave her a quick call. And talked to her for a few minutes. She didn't bring up the subject either, although she wanted to know a few things about the wedding. Next, I texted Auri back. She just wanted to tell me the time for our dinner tonight. She and Rose took Sam and me over to dinner. Rose was such a good cook that we could expect at least a 3-course meal tonight.

I took the subway home again, chilled a little on the couch, and scrolled through Instagram. Then I got ready. I put on an elegant black jumpsuit with matching pumps and the golden jewelry that I always wore. I grabbed my purse and phone and started walking again. Auri and Rose lived only a few blocks away, so I walked. When I arrived, I saw that Sam was already standing in front of the entrance and was smoking. He saw me, stubbed out his cigarette, and immediately hugged me. "Oh LJ, I missed you so much. You wouldn't believe what it's like to do something alone with just the 2 of them. I was always the 3rd wheeler." – "It's so good to see you again. I have missed you so much, Sam. Oh, come on, you know the two are inseparable. You'll always be the 3rd wheel. Hahaha!" He let go of me. "Let's go upstairs, it's getting a little fresh!" – "Yes, of course, you have to tell us everything you experienced in London! Did you also enchant one of the princes with your magical charm?" – "Hahaha, you are so funny... Before I tell you everything, I need a large glass of wine first!" – "Well then there are only 10 floors between you and that glass of wine. The elevator hasn't been working for 2 weeks. Rose and Auri have gotten such good fitness condition. I couldn't even keep up with them while jogging!" – "You're kidding me, right?" He laughed and shook his head. "Well then, let's go upstairs before we're too late!"
