28. Chapter - The Confession

*POV Demi*

After enjoying the view from the giant wheel for a few minutes, LJ tried to say something to me, but I really couldn't understand it. I yelled, "What did you say?" She tried again and slid closer to me. But this time I could only see her lips moving. Oh boy, I can't read lips. Especially how was I supposed to focus on what she was saying when I just stared at her beautiful lips the only thing I wanted was to kiss. She looked a little desperate, which made me laugh a little. She had really picked a bad time to talk. But she laughed too. She made another attempt. She leaned even closer to me and held my hand. Our faces almost touched, and I got nervous. Did she want to kiss me straight? If so, I turned my face toward her a little more, so she didn't have to go 100 percent of the way. But I didn't want to take the first step because she had made it clear to me that it wouldn't happen again. We stayed like that for a few moments. Neither moved an inch from the other path. You could clearly feel the tension between us. I could feel LJ struggling to take the last step. But then she did. Her face and lips drew closer and closer to mine. I closed my eyes to fully engage in our kiss. But somehow our lips didn't touch. When I opened them again, LJ was a lot further away than just a moment ago. The journey was already over, and someone let us get out. I froze briefly, still not fully grasping what had just about happened. So, there is hope after all. Pulled out of my thoughts again, I followed LJ out of the wagon. We approached Rose and Auri who were whispering about something. They probably saw how close we had just gotten and drew their conclusions from that. I made eye contact with LJ, but she didn't look over at me. I tried not to let that irritate me, so I asked the group: "So guys, how's it going? Do you still want to drive something, or should we go home?" Everyone looked at each other and Auri said: "I think for today it's enough. I'm getting tired too." LJ and Rose agreed with us. So, we strolled toward the parking lot. Rose walked next to me, and we started chatting about different musicians that we both thought were good. Auri and LJ walked a bit behind us, so I didn't get what they were talking about.

*POV Aurora*

I went a little slower than Demi and Rose so that there was a small distance between them and LJ and me. "LJ did you just kiss her? Cause it looked like it just then," I asked excitedly. "No... it almost came to that, but when I finally dared to do it, the journey was already over."

- "How did that come about? Did you tell her how you feel?" - "I wanted to, but it was too loud, and she didn't understand anything I said. And when I wanted to try it the third time, we got so close it almost happened... but I was too slow!" - "And did she want it too?" - "I think so, but I think she wanted me to take the first step... and that took a lot of effort from me." - "Did you say something afterward?" - "No, I've tried to ignore her so far. Somehow I was embarrassed to look her in the face afterward." - "I think that's a mistake you're doing right now. You just showed her that you would like to kiss her, but the next moment you completely ignore her. That could confuse her a lot, don't you think?" - "You're right, but I don't know how to look her in the eye without sinking into the ground. At that moment I gathered all my courage, and I don't know if I can do it again so quickly." - "Oh Laura. You are such a strong woman, and you always achieve what you set out to do. So, you will master this too. Believe in yourself and face your feelings." When she said that we were almost with the others in the car, I kissed her on the cheek and said: "Thanks Auri. Love you!" - "Love you too!" Demi and Rose were already in the car and Rose had her phone connected to the Tesla and was showing Demi a few of her favorite songs.

*POV Demi*

When LJ and Aurora got in the car, Rose was playing her all-time favorite song. 'Stronger' by Kelly Clarkson. I turn up the volume. The song is an absolute banger. When Rose and Auri started singing along loudly, I joined in. That was so fun with those two. LJ started filming the whole thing, taking turns pointing the phone at each of us. Right after that, a song called 'Castles' by Freya Ridings was played. I think I had heard the song on the radio before. It was really good, and Rose smashed that song right away. She had an incredible voice. After a few minutes of driving, one of my favorite songs came on, 'Little Too Late' by JoJo. I sang along from the start. Until I realized I was the only one singing. I got quieter and quieter and at some point, just hummed along. "Please don't stop! That was amazing!" LJ said and touched my shoulder. "Only if you sing along again! Otherwise, it's embarrassing!" - "Demi, you usually sing in front of hundreds of thousands of people, the three of us aren't a problem," Rose interjected. "Yes, but that's different!" I replied, laughing. So Rose and Auri climbed again and the three of us sang our hearts out. Laura was the only one who didn't sing, I didn't want to push her. We sang along with some other songs until we got home. Rose had very good music taste.
