*POV Laura*
"Max, what the fuck. Why did you do this all the time?" She was still only a few inches away from me. I looked at Max and then at Demi. Then I slip out of the broom closet as quickly as possible so the situation couldn't get any weirder. I went to the next exhibit as fast as I could. Where the guide was standing at that moment, he couldn't have seen what we were doing in the storage room. So I struck up a conversation with him to stay out of an awkward situation with Demi and Max
*POV Demi*
When Laura, embarrassed, fled the storeroom as quickly as possible, I was even angrier with Max than I was before. When she was gone I said, "Max, can you tell me why you're doing this all the time? This was such a beautiful moment between us! I hope for you that you didn't ruin it between us." – "Demi, believe me, I'm not doing this on purpose. I'm just doing my job! And that's taking care of you and always knowing where you are just make sure you're safe. How about just not doing these things in public and only if I'm not looking out for you? And trust me I didn't ruin it between you two. If your relationship is predestined, then it will work out. Besides, she shows that she likes you!" – "So you're telling me just because we're in public here I can't even have a few minutes of privacy?" – " Well, yeah! That's exactly what I mean. If you have a problem with that I love you like you're my own daughter, but I'm just making this to protect you. And when you present her to the public, you don't have to hide in some closet with her. But it will change everything for her. And that doesn't only have advantages for her!" – "We're a long way from showing her to the public. And I don't even know how she feels about me. But I Know what you mean, that everything would be changing for her. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. But let's only talk about it after I've talked to Laura about it and I don't think that conversation will happen any time soon." I hugged him and walked towards Laura and the guide who was talking at the other end of the room.
When I stood next to her and carefully tried to hold her hand, she unobtrusively took a step back without looking at me. The guide let us through 7 other exhibition rooms and explained everything about the individual exhibits. One of the other stories was very interesting. Both Laura and I took some photos of the exhibition. Every once in a while when she wasn't paying attention, I snapped a few photos of her. I know this is actually really creepy, but I just had to do it. She didn't have many pics of herself on Instagram and if I don't see her for a while I just to have some pics of her and her beautiful face. When we got to the main hall, where most of the audience was, it didn't take long for the people to recognize me, and a large herd of fans rushed toward me. Max quickly placed himself in front of me to protect me and called to Laura to go to the exit because that would be the safest for her. Firstly not to be overrun by the crowd and secondly not to accidentally come across any fan photos. I decided to take some photos with the fans and give some signatures, but then get back to Laura asap and don't lose a lot of time with her. It took longer than I thought and after 45 minutes Max was able to get me through the crowd to the exit. I looked around to see where Laura was. It took me a while to find her. She sat at the bottom of the steps and looked at her phone. Max and I ran down the stairs. When we got to her I said "I'm so sorry that I kept you waiting here for so long, but my fans didn't let me go anymore and I had a hard time saying no to them too. I hope you got not too bored." – " It's okay. Don't worry. It's part of your job. I think I could keep myself busy. " She said that with an undertone that made me realize she wasn't telling the whole truth.
I gave her my hand to help her get up. As she took my hand, I felt a flashlight in my direction. The next one followed shortly after. Laura jumped up and I quickly pulled her towards our car. Max walked behind us in such a way that the paparazzi didn't really get a good look at us. Our driver opened the car door for us and we jumped in. In the car, we could take a deep breath. I looked at Laura and she looked very scared. "Is everything alright? I'm sorry I put you in this situation. I should never have brought you here. I'm so sorry!" I said to her. "Everything is alright Demi. But yeah maybe it was a mistake, that we went here together." As we drove off, I regretted having chosen to come here. But one thing I didn't regret at all was our kiss. That kiss and meeting Laura were the few good things that have happened to me in the past few months. And now I've probably ruined everything. After driving for some time without even knowing where we were going, we arrived at my hotel. "How long do you have until your flight leaves?" – "in 2 hours, but I wanted to meet Dylan 1 hour before. So I should go to the airport soon." – "Okay. Can you come up to my room for a moment?" – "Mmm, I don't know if that's a good idea." – "Please, just a moment. I can't let you drive to the airport that easily."- "Okay, but just for a few minutes." We both got out and quickly slipped through the front door of the hotel. There was silence in the elevator. When I got to my hotel room, I said "Look Laura, I'm really sorry you had to go through that. Thank god it was just one paparazzi. If there were more of those assholes there, I wouldn't have known how I could protect you from them. My lawyer will take care of it so that your face is nowhere to be seen." – " If that were possible, that would be great. I just hope that I don't come across one of those gossip magazines, that would be the death of my career." – "Don't worry, I'll make sure that doesn't happen!" – "Thank you!" – "Before you go, do we want to talk about what happened in the storage room? I had the feeling that you felt very uncomfortable afterward." – "I don't really know what to say about that. It was just a kiss that shouldn't have happened. I mean, we're just friends and I think that's a good thing. Anything else I don't think would be good for us or me at the moment. I hope you understand that." –" I have to say honestly, I wouldn't call our kiss something that shouldn't have happened. Quite the contrary. I've wanted to do this for a long time. I just wanted you to know that. If only you want to be friends, I respect your wish and we forget the kiss." – "Okay, good! I think should go now to be in time!" – " Oh sure, but promise me that today hasn't changed anything about our friendship" –" Of course not. I promise."- "ok come here, then I can hug you again before you fly across the big pond. I have a radio interview tomorrow morning and then I'll fly straight to LA." I stretched out my arms and she hugged me. Feeling her so close to me again was wonderful again. But I had to accept that she just wants to be friends. "Okay. I should really go now, Demi. I'll see you soon." I hugged her for a bit too long but let her go. "Hahaha okay, but text me when you've landed safely and are home." She went to the door and opened it. "Bye Demi!"- "Bye Laura. Have a good flight." And then she left.
