I'd say the party's going well, it's fun and relatively drama-free so far. I'm really getting along well with Abby and I'm getting the chance to meet people again and make friends.
Dustin had finally appeared on the scene after work and immediately joined a game of beer pong in the dinning room.
I can hear commotion from the living room and mine and Abby's heads twist to look for the source.
"Oh, don't look now." Abby groans as Piper and her clones walk through the door. They were all dressed impeccably, short skirts, halter tops, gold jewelry. It was like this wave of perfume followed them everywhere.
"Why invite them if you hate them?" I ask and Abby chuckles.
"Because the wrath and drama would be worse than just putting up with them." She shrugs, watching them go over to the pong table and I roll my eyes.
"Elle!" She calls and I watch a girl with wavy blonde hair pile a bunch of empty cans on the kitchen counter. "Come meet the guys' new roommate!" She smiles kindly, hurrying over.
"Hi, I'm Ellis!" She says, giving me a quick hug and I smile. "It's so good to meet you, I didn't know you'd be a girl."
"I've been getting that a lot." I laugh and she grins. Ellis was tall, blonde hair was wavier than mine, she had on a macrame top with loose low-rise jeans. She had a relaxed vibe to her. "I'm Annie."
"This is going to be fun! A new girl in the group who's not someone's sneaky link or girlfriend." She insists and I laugh. "You should meet my girlfriend Sydney." She says, pressing her lips together, looking around the room. "I'm sure I'll spot her soon, she's around."
"How long have you been together?" I ask and she shrugs.
"I think four months now?" She says, looking at Abby who nods. "She's cool, you'll like her."
"I believe you." I smile and she looks around some more, obviously still looking for Sydney.
"You should meet the guys." She tells me and I nod watching Ellis take off, the two that she gestured to earlier were finishing up a game of pong with Dustin and Mark.
She brings them back over and I feel my heart race again. These guys were good looking too, what the hell is in the water around here?
"Annie, this is Darren." She smiles, presenting the guy on her left first. He wasn't too tall, my guess was five-five, with deep skin and bright white teeth.
"Nice to meet you." He says kindly and I nod extending my hand for a quick shake.
"And this is Chase." She says introducing the taller of the two, he had short bouncy curls covering the top of his head with deep brown eyes. He was taller than me, but I wouldn't think of him as tall for a guy, probably just under the six-foot mark.
"Hey." He says politely, giving me a big grin and I smile back.
"Hi." I respond, giving him a quick handshake. His skin had nice summer colour too it, I assumed like me he'd spent a lot of time outside in the sun over the last few months.
"You need a drink?" He asks and I shrug.
"Sure." I answer and when I turn to tell Abby that I'd be right back, the three of them had already disappeared. That was weird. Chase seemed nice, approachable and that was a nice change of pace. He reminded me of Mark in the way that it felt easy and comfortable to chat.
"They ditched us." He sighs, shaking his head. "This way, I'll grab you something." He says, gesturing for me to walk to the fridge with him. He opens it and I catch a glimpse of Walker chatting with Piper on the other side of the room.
