This has been such a perfect night and an unbelievable birthday. I feel just the right amount of tipsy, I'm happy, aware and calm, but also buzzed.
It seems like all three of our friends have managed to get a phone number tonight too. Leaving Walker and I lots of time to be alone.
I notice it's starting to clear out and I sigh, knowing it was probably time to head home. The bar closes in like thirty minutes and it's close to three a.m.
"You wanna go somewhere else?" Abby asks as we stand in line for our jackets and I sigh, shaking my head.
I was ready to eat something greasy, drink a glass of water and crawl into bed with Walker. We'd teased around about sex but that wasn't a possibility with all of our roommates home. I'd let that go and I was just ready to chill and have an easy night.
"I'm good." I sigh and she nods with a simple shrug. "Thank you so much for everything, this night was so, so fun!"
"I'm glad you liked it!" She insists, giving me a hug and I grin.
Walker gets our coats and I sigh, not ready to face the cold again. I watch Walker find us a car home and I sigh, crossing my arms to try and keep myself warm. We'd normally walk when it was warmer, but I was cold and sufficiently tipsy. Ready to be home now.
I watch a Honda Civic pull up and I furrow my eyebrows, that's not big enough for the five of us. I check to make sure no one's taking their new flirt home with them but they all shrug and pile into the backseat. The car pulls away before I even ask what's happening and I look up at Walker.
"Order the wrong size car?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows and he grins, shaking his head.
"No, we're just taking our own." He mumbles.
"To get home?" I ask, feeling confused and he chuckles.
"No.....we're not headed back to our place." He whispers and I blink as a town car pulls up alongside us. My eyes widen and he opens the door for me, gesturing for me to get in.
I should have known Walker would want more than just a simple birthday out. I smile, feeling a little overwhelmed but equally touched.
I shuffle onto the leather seat and I clear my throat, watching him get in and close the door. He takes my hand and I sigh, unable to hold in my curiosity for any longer.
"So....where are we going?" I ask and he chuckles.
"Somewhere else." He answers quietly, kissing my cheek. "Somewhere just you and me."
The thought sent a ton of excitement through me, what did he have planned? He was always so good with little surprises.
I lay my head on his shoulder, feeling dreamy. I'd never dreamed in a million years that our relationship would be this incredible. Just getting him to the point where he would be open and tell me things took ages, but now he was perfect. He was everything I wanted, but never knew I needed.
The car pulls up outside the fancy Marriot downtown and my jaw practically falls on the floor. I look at Walker and he nods, letting me know that this was where 'not home' was. He always looked embarrassed when he'd do things like this, like he didn't want credit for doing something so amazing.
"Let's go." He whispers and I nod, stepping out of the car after him.
We walk through the massive lobby and I blink, looking around at the nice furniture and high ceilings. It's quiet now, but I can only imagine it full in the middle of the day.
