Jasper had been in great pain since he was brought back. At the moment, there wasnt much we could do. I sat with Clarke in the dropship, checking on Jasper. He groaned in pain again. "Go back to sleep!" "Be quiet!" Some of the others yelled from below. It was the middle of the night, pretty much morning. "Don't listen to them. You're going to make it through this, okay?" Clarke said, pushing back his hair. She looked absolutely exhausted. Octavia climbed up the ladder behind us. "I'll take care of him for now. Take a break." She told us. Octavia looked exhausted. I hesitated but she was already sitting down to take my place, so I let her. "Keep an eye on him, I'll get water." Clarke said, getting up with me. Many of us slept in the dropship. Some found it safer others just didnt have a tent. I walked out with Clarke. We heard a small shrill scream. "I got this. Go sleep. Go be with Murphy." Clarke patted my arm and pushed me towards the tents. I know she didnt like Murphy but she accepted him, for me. She went in the direction of the scream and disappeared in the dark a minute later. I stumbled almost blindly towards the tents. It was still pitch black outside. I slammed into someone and heard a big huff. "Watch it!" He yelled. "Murphy?" I asked. He always got mad at the others. "Oh crap. I'm sorry." Murphy answered. I felt him reach up and touch my cheek. "I was coming to check on you." He said. "Well I was coming to look for you and sleep." I yawned. He laughed and grabbed my hand pulling me towards the tent. Once inside Murphy switched on the lantern. "My god, you look exhausted." He said pulling me towards our conjoined cots. We pushed the together so we would have more room. I sat down, pulling off my jacket. Jasper's groans could still be heard from here. "I don't know how to help him." I said looking down. All of my energy had been put into trying to help Jasper. "I don't think anyone can." Murphy got into the bed and pulled off his shirt. "We will save him. We have to. I wont let him die." I said, quickly. Jasper was a great person and he was brave. We needed him. Monty needed him. Murphy didn't answer. I crawled into the bed annoyed.. Murphy leaned forwards and kissed me. I sighed, he didn't mean to be an ass it just happened sometimes. I laid down facing him, his arms wrapped around me. Minutes later I was dead asleep.
...
Murphy and I were woken to Clarke standing outside the tent asking for me to get up. It was light outside and warmer then the past days. She walked in, unsure. Murphy still held me in his arms, smirking. "What do we owe the pleasure Princess?" He asked. He sat up in the bed, shirtless. Clarke looked at the floor. "I need help with Jasper, Y/N." She said to me. "Alright, I'll be there in a minute." She nodded and left quickly. Murphy stifled a laugh. "Really?" I said, punching his arm. He laughed and tackled me, hugging me close. I kissed him hard and got up, getting ready. "Do you want something to eat?" He asked. "It can wait." I said putting my hair up. I left my jacket behind. He smiled at me and I turned to leave. "I really do care about you." Murphy got up and hugged me. "I'll meet you for lunch again." He said. I kissed his cheek and ran out.
...
Jasper had a slight fever. He was also very weak and there really wasn't much we could do for him. "Have you eaten?" Monty asked. My stomach growled in response. "Go eat." Monty laughed. I smiled a thanks and went down the ladder. Most people were outside, it was warm and everyone was enjoying it. I walked out of the drop ship, no sign of Murphy or Bellamy. This morning Bellamy went out and came back with a tired and annoyed looking Atom. When I asked him what was wrong, he wouldn't answer. Atom had stopped talking to Octavia too. Miller and Connor walked by, carrying a large metal piece for the wall. "Where is Murphy?" I asked. Connor laughed. "Got a problem?" I asked him, stepping towards him. His smirk disappeared. "Calm down Y/N. Murphy is with Bellamy. Hunting practice I think. I just know they brought their knives." Miller said, he pushed Connor along. I walked through the camp with some food, searching for Murphy. He had been meeting me for lunch the past couple days. I heard Bellamy's voice just past our incomplete wall. "That's how its done!" He yelled out, I heard something hit one of the trees. "No sign of Trina and Pascal." Atom said. I stepped forward, right in the trees outside of the clearing they were standing in. This didn't count as spying I hope. Atom stood near Bellamy and Murphy was standing on a fallen tree. I saw Murphy look towards where I was hidden. "Visit you special tree when you were out there?" Murphy asked, being his smart-ass self. "Atom took his punishment, let it go." Bellamy ordered. "Could be grounders." Atom suggested. Murphy jumped off the tree. "Yeah, or they could be in pound town. Lots of that going on recently." Murphy suggested. One of the other guys laughed, "Yeah! You and your little girlfriend know all about that!" He yelled to Murphy. Murphy's face went red, he glared at the guy then started to walk to him, ready to punch his face in. "You think you're funny? Don't talk about her." He said to the guy. My mouth had dropped open. Bellamy stood in his way. He pushed Murphy back. Even my face was red right now. Jasper's groans of pain could be heard from here. "Look, Bellamy, people are scared, and that dying kid, he's not helping the morale around here." Atom said. "Morale will go up when I find them more food." Bellamy said after a second. "What about Trina and Pascal?" The other guy asked. Bellamy looked at him. "It's possible they are just lost. We'll keep an eye out for them when we go hunting." He answered. Murphy looked ready to go. "Lets go kill something." He said walking away. Bellamy stood in moving. "You're not going." He ordered. "I need you to stay here. If the grounders are circling, we can't leave this place unprotected. Plus, I bet your girlfriend would be worried." Bellamy said, smirking. Murphy turned around. "Fine. Somebody better tell goggle boy to keep it shut." He mumbled. The others walked back towards camp, leaving just Murphy. He smiled and walked right towards where I was hidden. Before I could turn away, he pulled back the branches. "Well hello there." He said. My face had to bright red now. "Lunch?" I asked innocently. Murphy laughed and picked me up spinning me. He hugged me close for a minute. "We should get back to camp. Its not safe here." Murphy said. I nodded and he grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the camp. We walked for only a few minutes before we were right outside the wall. Murphy stopped and pulled me back behind a tree. "Wha-" Is all I got out before he cut me off with a kiss. Murphy had pushed me up against a tree and had his arms on either side. He kissed me again and I bit his lip. I felt him smile. "I love you." He whispered. I smiled and kissed him back. "I love-" I started to say before Jasper screamed out. I looked at Murphy and took off running. I jumped over the piece of log in the way and pushed my way to the drop ship. Octavia ran in just in front of me. We both scrambled our way up the ladder. "Stop it! You're killing him!" Octavia yelled. Finn was holding down Jasper while Clarke was cutting the area around his wound. "Shes trying to save his life!" Finn told Octavia. Bellamy came up the ladder behind me. "She can't." He said. Wells was standing in the back of the room. He stepped forwards to Bellamy. "Back off. Now." He said to Bellamy. "We didn't drag him through miles of woods just to let him die!" Clarke yelled. "Kids a goner. If you can't see that, you're deluded. He's making people crazy!" Bellamy told her. Clarke looked upset. "Sorry if Jasper's an inconvenience to you, but this isn't the Ark. Down here, every life matters." Bellamy shook his head at Clarke. "Take a look at him. He's a lost cause." Bellamy said to her. "If I say there's hope, there's hope." Clarke said looking Bellamy in the eye. "This isn't about hope, it's about guts. You don't have the guts to make the hard choices. I do. He's been like this for three days. If he's not better by tomorrow, I'll kill him myself." Bellamy said, turning to leave. I saw an annoyed looking Murphy at the bottom of the ladder. I wonder what Bellamy said to him. After Bellamy left, Monty said, "Power-hungry, self serving jackals. He doesn't care about anyone but him self. No offense." Monty looked at Octavia. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. Bellamy is all that. But he also happens to be right." Finn said.
