You're not normal.
Too abnormal for the kids your age.
You try to engage, but they push you away.
You just wanted to play.
8 years old, already learned this earth is cold.
Don't you dare be different, nobody will like you.
Being bullied, without a clue as to why.
12 years old, already wanting to die.
Looking up towards the sky, asking God why?
People kept telling you to try, and you did.
You were only a kid.
Not sure what was wrong with you, so you hid.
15 years old, feeling alone.
Becoming another clone to fit the mold.
But it wasn't enough.
You should've been though.
Tried to be like the rest, your head completely messed.
What's wrong with me?
That's when I saw my way out to become free.
I had lost all hope.
I grabbed the rope and tied a noose.
This was what I was going to use.
Born into a world too dark,
That when someone with a spark appears,
They are torn apart by their peers.
18 years old, still in a world so cold.
But knowing you're worth more than gold.
Thinking there was something wrong with you, thinking you were weak.
Only now learning, that you're unique.
In a world so dark,
You're someone with a spark.
You're not like the rest,
But you still have a heart beating in your chest.
Just because you don't fit in, doesn't mean you shouldn't grin.
You're still alive,
And you're here to thrive.
Just because someone has a spark,
doesn't mean you should make their world dark.
Help them shine bright and maybe,
you too will see the light.
