Hey guys

Hope you like the last chapter

------

What will happen in the second half?

------

Troy had left the locker room to try and compose himself without having to deal with his teammates. He was just making his way to a quiet place when he heard some people talking.

He walks closer to see who it was and is surprised to see Kelsi and Gabriella. He moves closer to hear their conversation, but he makes sure to stay out of sight.

Troy hears Kelsi tell Gabriella that she needed to properly talk to him. He then hears Gabriella say that she was conflicted about him.

Troy feels like he was still causing Gabriella problems and is lost in thought. He snaps out of his thoughts and hears Gabriella say that she wanted nothing to do with him.

Gabriella's statement hurts him, so he leaves immediately not wanting to hear anything worse.

------

Troy was in a trance-like state as he made his way back to the locker room and joined his team. He tries to forget what he heard and get back in the zone, but he finds it very difficult to do.

He almost wishes he hadn't heard the conversation, but he was also glad to know where he exactly stood with Gabriella.

A tiny part of him had hoped that Gabriella would forgive him, but to hear her say that she wanted nothing to do with him.

Troy now understood how Gabriella might have felt when she had heard him say hurtful things about her.

If the excruciating pain he felt was anywhere close to what Gabriella had felt then, he was glad to have let her go.

If being around him was going to hurt her, then Troy would stay away to save her from the unnecessary pain.

It might hurt him to stay away but if Gabriella was happy without him in the long run, he would learn to live without her.

------

Troy tries to mask his hurt feelings when he joins his team back on the court.

Jack was surprised to see hurt in his son's eyes and shoots his wife a worried look.

Lucille also looks worried because if Troy wasn't hiding how he felt completely it usually meant that he was hurting beyond her imagination. She was worried about what might have transpired in the locker room during the break.

If the team players had done something to hurt her son again, then she was about to have a long chat with their parents.

The rest of the team continues their pre-game rituals oblivious to their captain's feelings.

------

The referee's whistle signals the start of the second half of the game.

Troy was slightly distracted, so he let his teammates take most of the shots.

His teammates seemed slightly confused by the sudden change, but they went along with their captain's orders.

Troy had noticed that he was being blocked by two players, so he made changes to their plays accordingly.

The West High Knights didn't like this and decided to respond aggressively.

Troy was in the zone of the Knights, just about to make a pass and out of nowhere he got slammed onto the floor.

He felt excruciating pain flare up in his back, but he bit down on his lip to keep himself from shouting out in pain.

The Wildcat captain was dazed for a few moments before his vision began to clear up.

Zeke and Chad were holding out their hands but Troy only accepted help from Zeke.

The referee called a foul in favour of the Wildcats and Troy went to stand at the free throw line.

The referee gave him two free throws and both of them were nothing but net.

The game continues as usual, but the Knights seem to be more aggressive when they are trying to block the Wildcat captain.

Troy took this as a sign to only move in when absolutely necessary to avoid unnecessary injuries.

------

Jack pulled his son out for some time to let him get some rest and come up with some new plans.

He was worried that his son had been seriously injured when he was slammed onto the floor, but Troy seemed to believe that he was perfectly fine.

------

The Wildcat captain observed his opponents from the side-lines while being checked out by the team physician.

The doctor was worried about the captain having hurt himself a bit too much but was glad to see that there was nothing serious.

The green light from the doctor made Jack sigh in relief while Troy rolled his eyes.

Troy says, "Coach, this was really unnecessary? I told you that I'm fine."

The doctor replies, "Troy, Coach Bolton is being a father first right now. Seeing the way you got slammed, I honestly don't blame him for being worried. You're lucky you didn't hit your head as hard as you hit your back."

Troy sighs and thanks the doctor for checking him out.

------

The referee blew his whistle to signal the end of the third quarter and Coach Bolton called out to his team.

Troy started explaining his next game plan to everyone and Jack immediately substituted him back in.

The Wildcats still had a lead, but the Knights seemed to be catching up.

The referee's whistle was heard again this time signaling that it was time for the teams to get back on the court.

The last quarter begins and the Knights seem to have a more aggressive game plan.

The teams are almost tied when the time left is less than a minute with the ball in the Knight's possession.

Troy implements his plan and the Wildcats manage to repossess the ball.

He then runs ahead to receive a pass and then takes a shot.

Everyone watches in anticipation as the ball goes through the basket as the buzzer goes off.

The Wildcats had won the championships.

Troy is given the championship trophy which he hands over to his father saying that he had earned it.

The team starts celebrating and the cheerleaders all run up to the players.

Troy does his best to keep the cheerleaders away from him. He really didn't like how fake they were and would rather be as far away from them as possible.

------

Troy is looking around the crowd for his mother when his eyes find Gabriella again, but he looks away almost instantly.

He had heard Gabriella say that she wanted nothing to do with him so he would stay away from her.

Troy feels like he is losing his composure, so he runs back to the locker room.

Chad notices this and runs in to try and talk to his captain with a few of their team members.

Zeke notices his teammates walking to the locker room and follows them.
