What will happen in the locker room?

------

Troy goes to his locker and sits down enjoying the peace and quiet of the locker room.

Chad enters the area, but Troy doesn't notice him because his eyes are closed.

Chad says, "Dude, why did you run inside? Everyone is celebrating outside."

Troy opens his eyes and replies, "It was getting too loud for me outside. What are you doing inside?"

One of their teammates says, "We wanted to check up on you captain. Are you alright?"

Troy lets out a chuckle and dryly replies, "Why are you even asking me that? It's not like you guys actually care."

Chad says, "Dude, we're all your friends here so of course we care."

The rest of the team makes their way in and finds their captain looking angrily at a few of them.

They couldn't understand why Troy would be angry when they won the championships.

Troy replies, "Are you kidding me right now? Chad, you are the most selfish person I've ever known and I can't believe that I actually considered you to be my best friend. You all call yourselves my friends but you sure as hell don't care about my feelings."

Chad makes an annoyed look and says, "Is this still about that elevated-IQ evil temptress? That girl isn't even talking to you while we're still here."

Troy coldly replies, "That girl's name is Gabriella so you better learn to call her by her name. She isn't talking to me because of the stunt you idiots pulled. Ambushing me is one thing but using me to hurt her is despicable. You're all selfish bastards who didn't care about anything but your desire to win the championships. You don't care who you hurt just to get what YOU want. I can't believe I considered you guys to be my friends."

One of his teammates asks, "You're really choosing a girl over your friends and teammates?"

Troy replies, "You guys threw away everything when you decided to ambush me. So, what if I have other interests? You were saying that singing was going to distract me and then we would lose the championships. Well then guess what, I did the callbacks yesterday and we still won the game today. Remember when the coach had a talk about how we should look out for each other because that's what a team does. Well, you guys certainly didn't learn anything from that. I didn't even want to play with you all because of the way you treated me, but I still came. Unlike you lot, I was looking out for you as a team should even when you idiots did nothing to deserve it. My so-called best friend turned my entire team against me just because I didn't think of my life as a ball game anymore. You guys say that you guys believe in me, but the moment Chad turns against me you all take his side. If you guys really believe in me then why couldn't you believe that I could handle this?"

The team looks down ashamed of how much they had hurt their captain.

------

Jack enters the locker room and instantly senses the tension.

He finds his son looking at his team with disappointment while the rest of the team was looking at their feet.

Troy sees the look on the faces of his teammates and continues, "You guys threw away our friendship the day you all decided to follow Chad and ambush me. I'm done with this team because I refuse to lead a bunch of selfish bastards who I can't trust. I quit"

Jack's breath hitches knowing that Troy wasn't just stepping down as captain, but he was also planning on leaving the team.

He knew that Troy wouldn't talk to the boys, much less join the team again unless all the boys earned his trust again.

Chad says, "Dude, the team voted you team captain because you're the best player to lead. Why are you quitting?"

Troy replies, "I'd rather be a friendless loser than be the popular jock with friends he can't trust at all. I'm done with you. All of you."

With that Troy moves to leave when he catches sight of his father.

Troy blinks back his tears and says, "I'm sorry, Dad"

Jack nods understanding and Troy leaves to meet his mother.

Chad turns to Jack and says, "Why didn't you stop him? He's clearly out of his mind."

Jack replies, "Chad unlike you Troy doesn't say things he doesn't mean. You all broke his trust including me. I made my own son think that I didn't believe in him anymore. If you want him to come back, you'll have to earn his trust again which mind you will not be easy. And one more thing Chad, don't you dare drag me into your mess. I'm working on my relationship with my son and I will not have you fools ruin any progress that I make. You boys can go to whatever celebrations you have planned for today. Good night"

Jack then leaves the team behind to meet his wife and son in the parking lot.

Outside in the parking lot, Jack finds Lucille standing outside the car while Troy was sitting inside with his earphones.

Jack asks, "Why are you standing outside?"

Lucille replies, "Troy was in a bad mood so I told him to sit inside and cool off for some time. I'm guessing the team did something again."

Jack says, "Troy kinda exploded on them after the game. They know how much they hurt Troy now. I also had a chat with them after Troy left the locker room."

Lucille replies, "That sounds good, but I know something else also happened so tell me everything right now."

Jack sighs and says, "Troy quit the team saying that he refused to lead a bunch of selfish bastards he doesn't trust. His words."

Lucille replies, "Well, I certainly don't blame him for making such a decision. I'm letting his choice of words slide this one time. Come on, let's go home now. I'm sure both of you are tired after that game."

Jack nods and they both enter the car and drive home.

------

Troy remains silent for the rest of the night eating very little and retiring to his room earlier than usual.

The rest of the weekend is rather uneventful.

Troy doesn't say much and eats smaller portions.

Lucille and Jack were both worried about their son, but Troy refused to talk to either of them.

Kelsi also tried to get her cousin to talk but he gave her the silent treatment as well.

Lucille was also really worried about her son's health because he had started losing weight from not eating properly for over a week.

Lucille hoped that the next week would be kinder to her son.
