Tonight I'm out with some of my coworkers at dinner. It's shit to be honest. All they're talking about is work and now my coworkers Andy and Connor are arguing about who's the best at programming. We've been here for about 2 hours now and it's getting tiring.

I was sitting and listening to their conversation until I heard a vibration coming from my phone. I opened my small bag and checked what was on my screen. It's a message from Mason.

Me:
I'm not sure, everything ok?

Mase❤️
I'm freaking out

Me:
Freaking out? Mase
what's the matter??

Mase❤️
I can't breathe
it's not working
I need you

Me:
I'm on my way,
stay calm

I felt slightly panicked not understanding what's happening to Mason. I quickly put my phone back in my bag and decided to go.

"Guys I need to go, there's an emergency at home", I stood up and quickly put my jacket on

"Is everything ok", Andy asked

"Yea it's fine, I'm really sorry, I'll see you guys on Monday", I said a bit stressed.

"Bye", they all waved goodbye before I quickly ran to my car. Luckily I wasn't far away from home so I made it in just 10 minutes. I quickly ran to the front door and opened it with my keys.

"Mase"

I saw him sitting in the floor with his hand over his chest panicking. His eyes were red, it looked like he had been crying.

"What's happening to me", he said freaking out struggling with each breathe he's taking.

"Shh look at me, I think you're having a panic attack", I said crossing my legs to sit right in front of him. I put my hands on his cheeks trying to calm him down.

"Breathe ok"

"I can't", he panicked

"Yes, love, you can. I'm right here, I'll guide you", I said looking at him. I removed my hands from his cheeks and grabbed his hands to hold. He nodded and followed my actions.

"Close your lips and inhale through your nose for a count of four, with me", I said guiding him.

"Now hold your breathe for 7 seconds", I said as I kept holding his hands. He continued to followed my instructions.

"And now exhale through your mouth until a count of 8". He exhaled and started to get calmer.

"Good job, breathe in and out slowly until you feel like you're ok", I said as I rubbed his hands with my thumbs.

He continued until things got better. He looked more calm but his face was red from heating up due to the stress and panic.

"You did it", I smiled at him while rubbing his cheeks. He returned a weak smile as I sat next to him with my back against the wall.

"I'm sorry for ruining your dinner", he said as he rested his head on my shoulder.

"No need to say sorry, you saved me from that dinner", I chuckled.

"Why what happened", he asked

"They were arguing about programming, such a depressing topic", I said making him giggle.

"You need to take a break Mase, you're putting too much pressure on yourself", I said leaning my head to rest on his head.

"I know", he sighed.

"Let's go to bed...it will feel better", I said helping him get up.

We brushed our teeth and then I got changed into my pajamas. I joined him in bed and let him rest his head on my chest with his arms hugging me around my waist.

"Thank you for coming when I needed you", he whispered

"No worries", I said kissing the top of his head.
