Quinn

I clutch the phone Gunner handed me with shaking hands as I stare at the key pad. My fingers hover over the numbers while the sound of water hitting the shower wall fills my ears. Alright let's get this over with. I blow out a painful breath. My body hurts, I just want to lay down and stay down but my brain says I won't get back up if I do that.

I type my mothers number in and hit call before I can second guess myself. He said she could come, he said he'd help me get her here. I just need my mom right now. I should have gone home before any of this shit happened, and I probably would have if I hadn't met Gunner. I'm stuck on him. He's saved me multiple times and hasn't asked for anything in return. He's a good guy.

The line rings as I sit rigid on the edge of the bed. My back is killing me like no other. Everything from last night is hanging from my shoulders like dead weight and I just want to forget it. The feeling of that knife slicing through his junk is haunting and I feel rather bad, sick to my stomach over it even. I know that means I'm not morally fucked up yet though. I still have a soul.

"Hello?" My mother answers and all I do is let out a sob. When did I start crying?

Emotion slams through me at her voice.

"Who is this?" Mom sounded slightly worried and annoyed.

"It's me mom. Quinn." I manage to get my voice under control.

"Quinn. Oh my god! We didn't hear anything from you after that call you had with dad. We were expecting you to call again. Are you okay? Why are you crying? Did something happen?"

"A lot has happened," I admit. "I need you."

"Where are you?" Her voice is serious and I hear her moving around on the other end of the line.

The shower shuts off and for a moment I'm distracted as the bathroom door is opened and there Gunner stands in all his glory. Steam is streaming around behind him in waves and water droplets litters his tan skin. My eyes follow the light trail of hair down his navel to there that towel hangs from his hips. His deep v of said hips nearly have me drooling. Christ he's a man. True and true.

I sniff going back to my conversation.

"Didn't dad tell you where I am?" I ask and she sighs.

"So you're still there?"

"Yeah. Can you come here? I'll explain when you get here."

"Yes. It won't be until tomorrow at the earliest sweetheart. I'll need to get money and things together. Don't worry though I'll find a way to be there."

I wipe my eyes. "Okay. Okay, I'll send you my location."

"Im going to get things squared away and leave as soon as possible. Are you by yourself?"

"No, Im with a man named Gunner. His club took me in."

I could practically see the raised eyebrows by her tone, "his club?"

"It's a biker club. Im safe right now, don't worry."

"I've been worrying about you since you ran off Quinn. I never not worry about you. Im on my way."

"I love you."

"I love you too baby, now stay put until I can get there."

"Thank you." I whisper as she ends the call and I let my hand drop limply to my side.

"So?" Gunner asks. I look over his direction seeing he's slid just a pair of boxers on and he's leaning against the door jam of the bathroom. His hair is wet and messy in the best way.
