Author’s POV:

After everything that happened, Siddharth walked back into the hospital room. Ashi was still asleep, so he quietly stepped into the washroom to clean his bloodied face.

When he came out, he sat beside her, noticing how a strand of her hair had slipped into her mouth. He gently tucked it back and smiled—more amused than affectionate. There was no warmth in it, just a passing moment. Somehow, no matter how hard he tried to deny it, his heart kept drifting back to Avneet.

But he shook that thought off like it was dirt clinging to his skin.

Soon, the doctor entered, waking Ashi.

“Here’s the X-ray report,” the doctor said. “It’s just a minor foot twist. Should heal within a week. You’re free to go home.”

Siddharth nodded and helped Ashi into a wheelchair. He later assisted her into her car. Just before the door closed, Ashi looked at him with soft eyes.

“Can you give me a hug?” she asked.

He smiled faintly and leaned in, hugging her quickly. “Don’t forget what the doctor said. Take your meds, okay? I’ll see you later.”

Ashi nodded, and the chauffeur drove her away.

Siddharth let out a long breath, ruffling his already messy hair. He hopped onto his bike and rode home.

The silence in the house welcomed him like an old friend. He felt oddly relieved.

He dropped onto his bed, mind racing. “Is Ashi really capable of all this twisted crap? Against Avneet? No. No way. I can’t imagine her doing that... God.”

He groaned and pulled a pillow over his face—then angrily flung it across the room. Frustrated, he removed his shirt and stepped onto the balcony.

“I HATE YOU ALL!” he screamed into the open air, his voice echoing faintly into the evening sky, swallowed by the hum of the city winding down.

It made him feel... a little lighter.

The doorbell rang. He pulled on a tank top and headed downstairs.

When he opened the door, there she was.

Avneet.

He scowled instantly. “Why are you here again?”

Avneet, calm but firm, said, “I just came to make it clear again—I didn’t do anything to your goddess girlfriend, alright?”

Siddharth scoffed. “Okay, liar. Got it. Now leave me alone—for God’s sake.”

She crossed her arms. “You keep calling me a liar, but you’ve got no proof.”

“I trust you, Avneet. Happy now?” he snapped, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Cool. Now leave.”

Without waiting for a response, he pushed her out and slammed the door.

Avneet stood on his porch, rolling her eyes, and then walked away into the night.
