Author’s POV:

Avneet stormed out of Siddhart’s gate, flipping him off with a glare and shouting,
“FUCK YOU! PATHETIC ASSHOLE! AND FUCK your girlfriend and everyone!!!”

But just as she turned around, she froze—Rohan was pedaling toward her on his bicycle. He stopped when he spotted her and lifted his helmet.

Bro… what are you doing here?” he asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Avneet instantly pulled her hand down, replacing her anger with a cheeky smile.
“Nothing. Just came to talk to that pathetic jerk again.”

Rohan got off his cycle, smirking.
You lowkey look upset. Wanna go grab some ice cream?”

Avneet didn’t hesitate—she nodded immediately.

“Knew it,” Rohan chuckled, unlocking his bike. “You once said you crave ice cream when you're in a bad mood.”

Avneet’s mouth dropped.
“Bro, you remembered? Aww, I’m actually blessed to have you.”
She threw her arm around him in a side hug, and he just chuckled again.

The two walked off to the nearest ice cream parlour, smiling like idiots.

Siddhart’s POV:

The moment I pushed her out of the house, my chest tightened.

A part of me instantly regretted it.
Maybe I should’ve just listened.
What if she actually had proof against Ashi?

I shook my head. Whatever… too late now.
I needed air. And ice cream.

Plus, Di had told me to bring some back home anyway.

I walked to the nearest ice cream parlour, grabbed a couple of popsicles, and was paying at the counter when I heard familiar laughter—loud, carefree.

I turned my head and... there they were.

Avneet and Rohan. Laughing. Eating ice cream. Acting like nothing in the damn world could touch them.

I clenched my fists. My jaw tightened.

But I rolled my eyes and turned away.

Let them laugh.

Ashi’s POV:

By the time I got home, mom was already waiting outside to help me out of the car. She took me straight to my room and helped me settle into bed.

She looked... worried.

“Why do you look like you're about to cry, Maa?” I teased.

Mom lightly smacked my head.
“You think it’s funny? Look what happened to you.”

I laughed, but then my tone shifted.
“By the way, my precious mother... any news from the Nigams?”

My mom hesitated.
“We'll talk about it later. I brought you fruits. Let’s eat.”

“Why are you avoiding it? Don’t you love me? Just tell me—what was their answer?”

My mom finally snapped, standing up.
“They said no. Are you happy now?”

I sat up on the bed, picked up the fruit knife from the side tray, and placed it against my wrist.

“If you don’t help me, I’ll do it. Maa, I can’t live without Siddhart—he’s my everything.”

My mom's eyes widened in horror. She yanked the knife away and cupped my face.
“They said he isn’t ready. Why do you suddenly want to marry, Ashi?”

“Because someone’s trying to steal him,” I whispered.
“And I’m not going to let that happen.”

My mom exhaled, her face pale from panic.
“Okay… okay. I’ll talk to them again. But don’t ever scare me like that again. You’re all I have, betu.”

She kissed my cheek and began feeding me the fruit slices she had cut.

Once I drifted off to sleep, she stepped outside and dialed a number.

---

Nandini’s Call:

“Vibha ji?”

“Yes, Nandini ji? Did something happen?”

Please… don’t cancel the wedding.”

There was a pause.

“Why?” Vibha finally asked. “What happened?”

“She’s my only daughter. She’s sensitive. She’s deeply in love with your son. Please don’t back out now. Sid loves her, I know it. She’ll never be a burden—”

“Nandini,” Vibha cut in gently, “breathe. This isn’t just about us. I told you—it’s Siddhart’s decision.”

“But you’re his mother. Please… just reconsider. Talk to him again.”

Another pause.

“Give me some time,” Vibha said, then ended the call—clearly conflicted.
