Author's POV

They rushed Siddhart to the hospital where he was immediately taken into emergency care. Thankfully, it wasn’t life-threatening—the doctor later confirmed he had only passed out due to extreme stress.

The four of them waited outside, worried, and unsure what to do next. Rohan broke the silence.
"Should we still show him the video?"

Abhishek instantly shut the idea down.
"No. We can’t risk it again. The picture alone was too much for him."

Rohan opened his mouth to argue but then fell silent, unsure himself.

Vaishnavi looked over at Avneet, who was frozen—shocked and devastated by what had happened. She walked over and pulled her into a hug, patting her back gently.
"We’ll find a way. Don’t lose heart, okay?"

Abhishek added, "I think... I think the memories are starting to come back. Slowly. Don’t worry. We’ll show him the video at the wedding—or maybe the night before."

Rohan nodded in agreement. Avneet followed suit.
She offered to drop Rohan off at his apartment and then headed home. The stress was weighing her down.

When she stepped into the house, she saw her mom peeling fruits in the kitchen.
Her mom looked up and smiled. "Betu, how was your day?"

Avneet couldn’t lie. Not to her best friend—her mom.
"It was the worst, Mom. We tried bringing Sid’s memory back… but instead, after seeing just one picture from our childhood, he passed out. He’s in the hospital now."

Her mom’s jaw dropped.
"Is he out of danger?"

Avneet nodded, taking a bite of the fruits. "Doctor said it’s due to the stress he’s under."

Her mom sighed. "That poor boy... so much pressure at such a young age."

Her mom sighed deeply.
"Poor boy… so much pressure at such a young age. Honestly, getting married this early... it’s not right."

Avneet looked down, her voice small.
"Yeah... I think so too."

She didn’t want to say anything more, so she stood up.
"Mom, I’m heading to my room. I’m tired."

Just as she was about to leave, her mom reminded her,
"Isn’t your graduation exam next week? Are you prepared?"

Avneet’s eyes flew wide open.
"Oh my god! Mom! I was so wrapped up in everything that I forgot about the exam—thank you for reminding me! I’ll start prepping after a one-hour nap!"

Her mom smiled and nodded.
Avneet went to her room, freshened up, and did her skincare routine—because no matter what life throws at her, skin care is a must. It’s her motto.
Then, she set her alarm and took a nap.

When she woke up, she went straight to her desk, pulled out her books, and started studying. After some time, her mom brought her a cup of coffee. Avneet smiled, took a sip, and got back to work.

Meanwhile…

Siddhart slowly woke up in his hospital bed.
His brother rushed in and smiled in relief.
"Thank god you're okay. The doctor said you’re free to go. Come on, let’s head back."

Siddhart nodded, quietly following him out and heading home. He went straight to sleep again once they arrived. Everyone pretended like nothing had happened.
