Everyone reached the hospital in a rush. By the time they arrived, Siddharth was already awake. The first thing he asked for—over and over—was Avneet. He refused to talk, refused to rest, until the doctor finally stepped out to look for her.

The doctor approached the group.
“Who is Avneet?” he asked.

Avneet immediately stepped forward, her heart pounding.
“I’m Avneet.”

The doctor nodded. “Mr. Nigam has been asking for you since he regained consciousness. He wants to see you.”

Her breath hitched. “Please… take me to him.”

The nurse led her to his ward. The moment Avneet stepped inside, Siddharth tried to sit up, panic flashing across his face as if he was afraid she might disappear again.

“Hey—don’t move,” she said softly, rushing toward him. “I’m right here."

He obeyed instantly, lying back as the nurse quietly excused herself, leaving them alone.

Siddharth’s eyes filled with tears. He reached for her hands and held them tightly, as if grounding himself.
“Avneet… I’m so sorry,” he whispered. “For not recognizing you. For being cold. For hurting you in ways I didn’t even understand. God knows how much pain I caused you.”

She shook her head, blinking back her own tears.
“It’s okay,” she said gently. “You can’t blame yourself for something you couldn’t remember.”
Then, hesitating, she asked, “Do you… remember me now?”

He nodded immediately.
“Yes. You were my childhood best friend. You went abroad years ago… and I had an accident after that.” His voice cracked. “That’s when everything went blank.

She smiled through tears.
“Yes,” she whispered. “That’s right.”

“I missed you,” he said, pulling her into his arms. “Every time you appeared in my dreams, every time I felt safe without knowing why—I missed you.”

Her arms wrapped around him tightly.
“I missed you like hell, Sid,” she admitted, her voice breaking.

He pulled back just enough to look at her, his eyes full of certainty this time.
“I will never let you go again.”

Before she could respond, he leaned in and kissed her—slow, desperate, real. She froze for a second, stunned, then melted into it, kissing him back as if all the lost years had finally caught up to them.

When they parted, her forehead rested against his.
“I’d wait a thousand lives,” Avneet whispered, tears slipping down her cheeks, “if that’s what it took for you to remember me.”

Avneet gently cupped his face, her thumb brushing over his cheek.

“Alright,” she said softly, forcing a small smile. “We’ll have all the time in the world now. But first, let me call your mom—she’s terrified.”

Siddharth nodded obediently, still holding her hand until the very last second, as if afraid she’d vanish again. Avneet squeezed his fingers once before stepping out of the ward.

Moments later, Vibha rushed inside, her eyes immediately landing on him.
“Oh, my betu…” Her voice broke as she reached him. “How are you feeling? Does the stitching hurt?”
