Calum: "Calum, I'm sorry." She whispered, tears threatening to spill form her eyes any second. "What did you do?" I asked her, my voice becoming weary. "I never meant to hurt you, Calum." She rushed out, her desperate eyes looking into mine. Before I could stop myself I was yelling at her, cursing as I whacked a vase off the coffee table, the broken pieces missing her by an inch. "I cheated on you, Cal." She whimpered. I lost my breath, freezing for a moment, letting the words sink in, replaying over and over. This is some sick joke. This has to be. I can't even bare to think that while I've been giving her all my love, she's been out and about with some other man, exposing herself, betraying me. She began to tell me some pathetic excuse of an apology, about how it was a mistake and it didn't mean anything.. but I could listen to it. I yelled at her, out of anger at first but it then started to turn to yells of heartache and tears undoubtedly fell from my eyes, rolling down my cheeks. "I love you, Y/N." I murmured to her to which she told me she loved me back; but she didn't. It seemed, at that moment, that she was quite incapable of it. She could've waited for me. Just those few more weeks and I would've been home but I'm clearly not worth waiting for. I turned away, storming down the hall towards our- the bedroom, pulling out a bag from the wardrobe and grabbing water clothes I could find. She stood in front of the wardrobe, blocking my ways as I tried to reach past her.
"F@&!ing move, Y/N." I snapped at her, finding myself wishing that my words hurt her the slightest. She wouldn't move but I pushed past her, though, still making sure that I didn't hurt her. I shoved as much clothes as I could fit inside the bag, as well as my wallet, charger, phone and anything else I could think of. I slung it over my shoulder and rushed to the door, not making it further than two metres before Y/N was holding onto my arm, pulling me backwards to try and stop me. "Calum, please don't leave me." She begged over and over. Her words stung me for some reason but I couldn't stay. I tried to continue walking, to ignore her but she was begging and begging and tearing at my heart. "Just stop!" I finally cried out, breathing deeply as we both looked at each other with ready eyes. "Gosh, you never know when to stop do you?" I half asked her, her grip on me falling as she looked at me, soft whimpers coming from her every now and then. I shook my head, my hand running over my jaw and I stepped backwards, away from her. "You never even," I started to speak, having to stop myself as my voice gave way and I let out a broken yet quite sob. "You never even knew how much I loved you, did you?" There was silence and my heavy breathing; nothing else for a moment. I pulled at my hair in sadness, the kind where you're so overwhelmed that you feel the need to break something, destroy something just so it can feel as empty as you. "I was willing to give you everything, Y/N." I spoke slowly, pausing mid-sentence. "But you were willing to throw it all alway."

Ashton: "When can we see Y/N again?" Harry asked me as him and Lauren sat down at the table. I almost forgot they didn't know. Then again, I don't really want anyone to know because then they'll be questions on why we broke up and all I can think about is that I'm not good enough. "Um, I'll don't think we'll be seeing much of her anymore." I answered him, Lauren's eyes falling from me as Harry's face scrunched up in confusion. "Why? I really liked her." Harry told me, his features falling giving me a sad look. "Did you two break up?" Lauren asked me, a sympathetic look on her face. "Yeah. We did." I told her, the worthless feeling weighing on my shoulders. "Ashton?" My mum called out for me. I turned around, still thinking she was in the kitchen preparing dinner but then I saw her at the front door along with someone else. I walked over to them, my mum moving out the way, Y/N appearing before me. I felt like stopping, turning my around and running as far away as I possibly could, but I couldn't do that. So I walked over to them, hoping to just stand beside mum like a cowardly child as she hurried out with whatever she wanted to say to me, but mum walked away leaving just the two of us. "Can I come in?" She asked desperately, her eyes pleading with mine. "Nows not really a good time." I explained to her, scratching at the back of my neck awkwardly. "Please Ash." She pushed and I sighed, opening the door wider and leading her to my bedroom. I sat down on my bed, picking up a soft ball and chucking it hand to hand, almost ignoring the fact that Y/N was here. She stood awkwardly in my room for a few seconds and shut the door behind her, pondering on whether or not to take a seat or not. "Ashton, I-" "What do you want?" I snapped at her, cutting her off. Her features softened and for a moment I almost felt guilty for yelling at her. She dropped her head low and let out a deep, shaky breath. "Ash, I want to fix things between us." She told me and I had to refrain myself from laughing. "You can't." I replied. "I want to try." She pushed again. That's one thing about her that won't change; she won't give up on something. "I wouldn't bother if I were you." I told her, dropping the ball and watching it roll out of reach. "Ashton, I'm really trying here." She told me, the regret clear in her voice. "Like you tried to stop yourself from kissing that guy?" I muttered as I stood up from my bed and began to take interest in the junk on my shelves. "Ashton!" She cried, her voice threatening to break. "You know, if I knew you were going to be so cold, I wouldn't have even came here to try and tell you how this past week has been hell for me!" She spat back at me, picking her bag up and making her way to the door. "Y/N, wait!" I stopped her as he hand grabbed hold of the door handle. She stopped herself, her grip still tight, ready to leave as she waited for what I had to say. "Don't go." I spoke before she turned around. "Its been hell for me too." I told her, my focus falling to the floor. She dropped her bag and slowly walked over so she was standing in front me. "Ashton, you have to believe me when I say that I'm sorry." She told me. I nodded sadly. "I do. Its just, I love you and," She cut me off. "I love you too, Ash." I pulled at my hair in frustration. "Please, I haven't finished Y/N." I informed her and she mouth a quick 'sorry' to me. "I love you and this week has been hell without you." I say as if I'm agreeing with her. "But I just don't know if nows the right time for us. You know, to sort things out." The slight trace of hope vanished from her face and she dabbed lightly at the corners of her eyes. "I'm sorry." I added quickly. She shook her head, trying her best to hide everything with a smile. "It's fine. I understand." I gave her a half smile, the act of breathing seeming a bit easier now. She turned away again, picking up and bag and opening the door. "Y/N?" I stopped her once more. "Yeah?" She looked back at me, her hand resting on the door frame. "I wasn't saying that I don't want to try and work things out, because I do, but I just meant that there's so much going on in our lives that maybe we just need a little distance from each other to figure out if this is really what's best for us." She smiled softly at me before looking down to the floor. "I know, Ash. Maybe nows just not our time."
