Sad Days.

Calum: Sad days were just a part of life. They came and left just like any other day, but unfortunately they weren't always as easy to get through. You knew you had Calum at your side waiting patiently for you to talk to him and you knew that he would loved you, but somedays it seemed that nothing could make you smile. It was the days when it wasn't anything in particular, more so just everything in general that was the cause of your sadness. It made it harder to focus on being happy when you didn't know why you were upset. Calum hated it too. He hated not being able to cheer you up by making one of his terrible jokes, or the sound of his voice not being enough to distract you from all of your worries. When he smiled at you and your eyes failed to meet his, that was when he knew it was bad. He'd go away for a few minutes, disappearing upstairs and leave you questioning as to what he was doing to cause so much noise. You'd wrap yourself in a sweater of his and close your eyes, patiently waiting for him to make his way back to you. He'd come back quietly, softly shaking you to open your eyes after you'd begin to drift off. He'd help you stand up, and whenever you would ask him what he was doing, he wouldn't answer you, instead wait for you to see for yourself. A small smile would make it's way onto your face as you'd notice the bath full of warm steamy water. You'd get undress and he'd help you into the bath before climbing in after you and letting you lean back against his chest. While it wouldn't evaporate all of your sadness away, it would help you relax for a little while and make you forget about everything even if just for a moment. You know Calum would do all he could to see you smiling again.

Ashton: Losing your mother to her fight with cancer was the worst thing imaginable for you. Even a year on, it still hurt just as much. You still expected to wake up with a missed call from her reminding you to put the clocks forward, or text her and tell her how you day has been. Ever since her passing, people had always told you that it will get easier, but it hasn't and you were starting to feel as if nothing would ever be right in the world again. After all, you were missing most of the stars in your sky since she she left. You were lucky enough to have Ashton by your side, though losing your mother was hard on him too as he had grown close with her. But nevertheless, he put all his feelings aside as he knew exactly what is what like to not have a parent around. You wouldn't even have to tell him what was wrong. Just the crushing look in your eyes was enough to tell him that you missed her, and that it was too much to deal with on that day. He'd take great comfort in pulling you over to bed with him, and making you lie down so that you were cuddled up against his chest. He would pull your hair out of it's bun and run his fingers through it, carefully massaging your head until your eyes grew heavy. He would let you cry out all the tears you could muster and never once tell you to calm down, knowing that it was best if you exhausted yourself quickly so that you were able to fall asleep and get some rest. He'd sing your favourite songs in you ear and wrap you up in the quilts and refuse to leave your side until he was sure you were ok. And when you woke again, he was right there for you, ready incase it still hurt just as much.

Sorry if Ashton's is personal. I'm always here for you. Always.

Luke: Luke wasn't aware that what he had done had, had such an affect on you. He wasn't really thinking at all when he did it, he kind of just assumed it was for the best. It was only when he returned home that night when he found out just how upset you were. It was quiet when he walked in, opposed to the normality of your music blaring through the house. Usually you were cooking dinner or finishing your coursework for uni, but it was different this time around and he could from the moment he stepped foot inside. You were on the couch lying on your stomach, a few crumpled up tissues lying on the floor not that far from you. You phone was switched off and lying face down on the coffee table, you refusing to touch it or log onto any social media. When Luke closed the front door behind him, he called out your name, kicking his shoes off before wandering around, eventually finding you in your state. "Babe?"  He questioned as stopped several feet away from you. You looked up at him, not jumping into his arms like he had expected. "What's wrong, Y/N? He walked over to you, shifting you slightly so he could sit down next to you. You sat up and leaned against his chest, wrapping you arms around his torso out of instinct as his made their way around you waist. You sniffled lightly, leaning further into Luke and breathing in his scent. As annoyed as you were at what he had done, you couldn't resist cuddling up to him. "I can't believe you did that." You muttered, falling so you were lying on his lap and staring blankly ahead at the wall. "Baby, what did I do?" Luke asked you, fear evident in his voice over the face that he had upset you. His hands began to twirl with your hair as he knew that that was always able to soothe you. "I'm sorry, sweetie. Please tell me what I did to upset you." He begged, hating being the cause of your sadness and being clueless as to why at the same time. You sighed deeply and moved once again to sit up, your back to him slightly as you crossed your legs and felt his hand rest on your lower waist comfortably. "Everything's changed." You whispered, finally realising that things weren't going to go back to how they were before. "Y/N, what do you mean? Please, baby." You heard the desperation in his voice and decided that enough was enough. You turned to face him slowly, a few tears in your eyes as you looked to him and whispered "Luke is a penguin."

Michael: Michael could be very good at hiding his feelings from people. For instance, majority of the fanbase were completely oblivious to the fact that Michael was struggling with his mental health. Only the boys, his family, several members of the tour crew and you - his girlfriend were aware of how he was feeling. Some days, he could even manage to convince most of them that he was ok, but you always knew better. You picked up on small details about him, like the way he twitched his shoulder whenever he lied or how he bounced up and down on his seat when he talked about something that meant the world to him. And most importantly, you knew when he wasn't ok, even when he did all he could to try and convince you otherwise. He was grateful for it though, and you didn't need to hear a word from him to know that he appreciated you. Though you weren't always in the same boat as him, you knew how he felt and you knew all his fears he had about life. Whenever he was sad, you would make sure that the two of you could be alone, no matter where you were. You would take him some place quiet and sit him down, allowing him the time to pour his heart out to you, all whilst you made sure he was close to you; whether that be a simple hand holding, or having your arms completely wrapped around his torso so that there was no distance between you two. You would never leave until you made sure he was alright and until you had assured him that everything would be ok. His happiness meant the world to you and there was no way you could sleep until you were sure he was fine.
